  • Hello,

I don't understand why people think November 5 is a moveable feast. It should be just one day and illegal the rest of the time.

Couldn't agree more. One of my dogs is really distressed by the bangs and it's day after day at the moment.

Thank goodness your boiler is ok E.

It is horrible when pets are distressed. We fixed our last dog by completely ignoring her. Seems cruel but works.

Not cruel at all. Dogs look to pack leaders for guidance on how to behave. If you're totally calm and not bothered they are more likely to follow suit. Making a fuss just reinforces their perception that its something to be scared of. That said, mums old dog would hide in the downstairs loo regardless of what we did or didn't do! Wouldn't it be great if we could have the pretty lights without any noise?

The neighbours will be pleased. I do love fireworks. Couldnt be called Alchemilla if i didnt, but in their place.

Today was a monumental f up. We had the day planned so we could just squeak in after work meetings, sharing a lift, tucking ponyplops up for the night and getting DD to the fireworks display.

DH picked me up with the car making an odd noise. Tyre completely shredded, just got in, more cash gone.
