Yep - 10 in a day! Didn't manage it very often... I'd make a batch of soup with 6 veg in it for lunch (along with a good dollop of protein), then it was 'only' 4 for tea. It was a good goal to aim for, as I often made it to 8.
Well done with your alcohol-free-ness - sounds like it is doing you good xxNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thats amazing! You are amazing.
The discusssions on your thread the past few days have made me want to change too. I can't change one thing though, I like to have a plan, with a list. Love a list!

Earthie you are constantly improving your life...look at all the things you have done. Thankyou though.xxx
I guess I wonder if all the marking/moderation we do is worth "missing" summer evenings for. If we would only be slumped in front of the telly then that's an easy decision. But a person does need some down time for sanity I think.
We net about 2.5 k, most of which DH earns tbh. He is unwilling to give it up as he sees it as a side gig that will sustain him in semi retirement.
Moderation will disappear in a couple of years for me because of the changes to GCSE. And it is a second job one can do from home-golden around here in the sticks.0 -
Having another ponder...a lot of what I would like to do depends on two things that I don't have entirely under my control...don't you hate that!
These are moving and changing job.
These two are further linked in that...if we had moved to the semi we have been looking at then I could have taken a chance on the temporary contract at my fav school.
We could move agents/drop the price/both but honestly I am not convinced either would be a quick fix. Not sure, but I think if people want to buy a place they will always try a cheeky offer. We did.
We have just had the agents tweak the details up after some good advice on the homebuying board.
I should be, and am, thankful that the seven of us (Plops and Puppylove included) and the ageing parents are all ok. DD2 seems to have settled - no more dramatic tantrums.
There are jobs going at a special school in the town I used to work at...but I am not really sure about that. Unlike you, Pavlovs, I feel too entrenched in teaching to take a whole new career direction.

Well done on the moderation. I think striking a balance is the most challenging thing. Hopefully things will move on the house so you have a clearer idea of what your options are.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Get the Plops out. May delegate to DH if he is up to it
I think I am leaving it there. Yesterday was too full and I was spark out by 9.45
What a party animal!
Anyone thinking of giving the booze a rest...I read 365tosober which is a great if wince-making blog.
Anyway what most struck a chord with me was what she writes about being present.0 -
Interesting about alcohol ... I stopped altogether for about 3 years at the end of my 20s, had a wake up call one fine day sitting in a cafe in Streatham, of all places ... when I started drinking again, its only ever been 3 drinks in a night, and nowadays its probably 3 drinks in a year ... I feel I was lucky to be able to stop on my decision alone, its made me wary of other, lets say, stimulants...
As for your house and your life, Al, you're doing what needs doing - you're paying attention to the individuals and the family dynamic, and thinking about the future. That's all any of us can do - and then you have to *go* for it, of course2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Feedback reports done. Took ages.
I have a feeling it is not over, and of course there is the claim form...
Off for a picnic in a mo.0
