Spinach isn't that high in iron...it was a misprint in the "Manual of Nutrition".

Wow - glad he went to the quack! Lots of steak, eggs, cruciferous veggies ahead. Hope they probe deeper into the underlying cause. Take care xx

Hope all goes well with DH x
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Although I hope he is home soon, I also hope he is kept in hospital until they find the cause and can start dealing with it.

And sending you lots of hugs - do pamper yourself a bit too.

  • Poor old Mr Al. Luckily after the blood and fluids he will soon feel like a new man. Same thing happened to me a few years ago, I didn't notice that I was more and more exhausted because I was doing so much that I thought the tiredness was to be expected. Then ended up in a and e.... Frozen peas are stuffed full of iron. So liver with peanuts and broccoli for dinner for all of you every night for a while......

As long as there is no underlying cause, his recovery should be really quick.

    Love to all,

    Squirrel x
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Poor DH, but every cloud has a steaky lining :)

Hopefully he will discover a new found appreciation of going to the doctors before it comes to hospitalisation?

Just glad they caught it before something even worse transpired!

Squirrel did you take a little time off to recover afterwards?

    Lol at Steaky.

They *think* its a slowly bleeding stomach ulcer.

He thought to be out this evening but the third unit of blood was just started at two so I don't like the odds...

In moneysaving news...I left hospital so late they let me out of the car park for free.
