However, that doesn't matter, as long as they can say 'I told you so'

Ah, those ones, they were predicting a crash before the last recession started in earnest in 2008. London house prices didn't go up in the last 6 years, did they? :rotfl:

Still, when the crazies are multiplying, it's definitely a sign that things are moving in the deeps. 2015 will be an interesting year...

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Re: The house prices it depends how you/the agent are marketing, if it needs work, the price reflects this and its listed as such i don't think its an issue.

We bought a do-er upper but it was advertised as such, and many of the faults pointed out during viewings! I think people come unstuck when they try to get top dollar that's not justified.

All that said the market is a mysterious thing at the moment, some friends had theirs valued at £115-120,000 they told the agents they needed £135,000 to buy their 'dream house' two declined to list it at that price but one agreed and it sold within 2 weeks at full asking!!

Same thing happened with my Mum.

And she sold it privately so not even any agent fees.

    Work bonkers.
  • Oh dear. I hope the bonkers stuff doesn't impinge on your family time. My year 9 class were disgusting.

No idea on the house sale bit having just offered on a flat for investment that was deep mustard and vile bright pink paint job throughout, a brown bathroom suite, no tiles on bathroom floor - just concrete - and a kitchen last touched circa 1970. The estate agent said it was vintage :rotfl: Made a reasonable offer estate agent thought only to be bumped by someone offering £10,000 over asking price!! Weird world
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

This week I have argued with a B target student who insisted 0.21 was bigger than 0.4

and set cover work for seven classes for four weeks

    and it is still Tuesday.

My Y12 made the most appalling pig's ear of a practical this week, and it's the final practice for their assessment, too. I am just so relieved that in their real assessment the only lengths they will have to measure will be horizontal, because none of them has the first idea of how to measure anything that's hanging from a clamp stand! :wall::wall::wall:
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
