I would want to buy a house I could move into and live in immediately. Kitchens and bathrooms could be old (obviously reflected in the price) as long as the fittings and rooms were in reasonable condition. So I would accept a maroon bathroom suite, but not in a cold and damp bathroom with mould up the walls etc. Unless it was a full renovation job and I wouldn't be moving in. Somewhere that hadn't been painted for a while would be ok, somewhere painted with tartan paint wouldn't be
.
Tilly your house is pefect as it is. Keep the paintpots handy for any little scuffs but it's great.
Al, if you're not sure put it up for sale and we'll link it to the 'Have a look at this!!!!' thread - that will get you some honest opinions :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

It depends...
For me, when we were FTB it was good kitchen, bathroom, boiler and windows as I knew we wouldn't be able to afford to replace them ourselves.
Second time around those things weren't as important, clean and looked after were good - no flags that house maintenance wasn't a priority of the owner, e.g. one house we looked at had a socket hanging off the wall in full view :eek:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

I predict a 30%+ house price fall in 3 years. I'm not specifying what 3 years of course, just that it will happen. And when it does I can say, ha, you shouldn't have bought previously. Bear in mind the 30% fall will no doubt be preceded by years of growth. However, that doesn't matter, as long as they can say 'I told you so' whilst continuing to pay rent, in one case, on a grotty flat on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Even if they have to wait 10 years to say it. I think that sums it up.

Yes it seems whenever a buyer posts a "why isn't my house selling it's been two weeks?" Question, they just get told off for being deluded about the value of their house.
