You got there a heartbeat before me Pavlovs.
Ponyplops has been exercised and pampered. Pub landlady apprised of our plans because loads of houses here sell by word of mouth.0 -
£36 spent on a replacement slip cover for the ripped sofa.
Alternatives were chuck it out or buy a proper one for £230 from the original manufacturer. Since the sofa is decades old it doesn't seem worth it.
I am eyeing up a pair of Klippan ikea sofas from ikea for when we reclaim the playroom. Anyone experienced those?0 -
Hi Al, we bought ds2 one for his birthday this summer for his bedroom and he loves it, we got a black cover for it (as it was the cheapest dark colour at the time!) seems sturdy and has been tested lots as he likes to laze around on it a lot :rotfl:MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Exciting times - and yes if you have any paint spare... my project if I sell my flat to the tenants is to get the reast of the house "refreshed" sort out the conservatory and maybe if there's anough consider a loft extension.
Then again...- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Hurdler isn't it funny how motivation comes and goes? Hormones....0 -
I had all but made up my mind to sell 'cos of the sitch with mum and the evil bosses dropping my pay. Then the other full timer feaked out at the mount of work they were piling on her (which I did and which she now gets paid more for) so they are putting me back to the starting rate... so things are a little less financially poor than if i was docked an extra £200 a month.
So don't know whether to sell (the flat is becoming more trouble than it's worth with the person now in charge of the residents association having real issues with anyone who raises any opinion that doesn't match hers, although her unfriending me on FaceBook was rather like the trash taking itself out!
There are a LOT of big expenses coming our way with the flat and the tenants have had another little mini-tenant so they're interested maybe once missus tenants goes back to work!
I can't deny though, the prospect of clearing the mortgage on Hurdler Mansions means that when/if mum gets worse I can pretty much drop hours and make sure she's taken care of. I just keep coming back to that one thing.- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

There must be something in the air Al, everyone seems to be trying to sell at the moment. One flat sold in our building in the last few months and our next door neighbours look to be preparing to sell as well. Probably for the best, chap is a 'DJ' (for that, read 'plays execrable music too loud the moment folk with office jobs arrive home for a rest')! :rotfl:0

Well try it Hurdler. The worst that can happen is you find the motivation to get all the little jobs done.
Ed hope you get rid of that neighbour.
Is unfriending someone on faceache the equivalent of saying "And I'm NOT your best friend anymore."?
Having a cuppa while filler dries helped by a three year old who is trying to measure it dry with his tape measure.
