Ooh, I'm glad I chose today to spread out into another mfw diary :j:j:j more retirement and decluttering :T
Somehow I think that having less junk is more thrifty and therefore I will be able to retire earlier....Obviously, buying less stuff will help, but once you have already bought something, decluttering it won't help me retire earlier!

It's linked in my mind too Over the last 5 years or so, I've decluttered lots of things. I think it's linked to freeing oneself from the shackles of the past, and moving forward lightly and with freedom. That's how it seems to me, anyway! :rotfl:

That is prettily said Goldie.

There is some logic to it...

if I get sacked and have to sell my house it will be easier

I feel like my house is bigger

I can see what I have got so can avoid buying a second *whatever* because I can find the first.
Totally what you just wrote, Alchemilla - houses really are bigger when they have less stuff in them :) and then we don't need that amount of space because we have less stuff :) and if I have to rent storage space so I can rent my house out, I can rent a smaller space. Or I might be able to declutter so much that I can just put my stuff in the brick shed in the garden (after its renovated) and not have to rent out any space at all :j

Sorry, that was a bit breathless :rotfl: but I'm thinking about this a *lot*!

Loving the leaves and disguised dragons too :)

EEEEKKKK!!! bunnies :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Hello,

I share your obsession, Alchemilla. Somehow I think that having less junk is more thrifty and therefore I will be able to retire earlier. It makes absolutely no sense but I continue to link the two things. Obviously, buying less stuff will help, but once you have already bought something, decluttering it won't help me retire earlier!

Decluttering via eb@y or fbook = OP money = working towards retirement :D:D
