supersavershal wrote: »Hi everyone, Ive just asked this on the ask a debt advisor a question but il ask your opinions too.
My DMP with stepchange started in February, my payment is taken on the 10th which is usually fine and most creditors playing ball.
My car has just had MOT and needs some work doing on it. I cannot manage without my car so need to get the work done. My emergency fund was wiped out with repairs to house when bad winds hit last month. Do you think stepchange will let me pay on the 14th this month, just once so I can get repairs done? DH gets paid on 14th so can replace the money I need for repairs. Do you think they might allow this? Hopefully next time Il have a healthier emergency fund.
Oh I know all about emergency funds being wiped out with car and house repairs, both of ours seem to be money pits. You really do have my sympathy.
I think you need to ask StepChange but I am almost sure that we made a payment late once and did it by bank transfer rather than DD.
Check with them today just to be on the safe side and make sure you cancel your DD then set it up again.

Dear all fellow DMPers
I've tried a few times to save a small fund for F&F settlements. The closest I have got is just under £1000, but every time I think I am getting somewhere, another 'emergency' appears, leaking roof, car problem, etc you know the story.
How have you managed to save for F&F settlements? Any tips?

Well done antonic!!!! You are an inspiration, it is good to see it is possible to end a DMP.
My journey is still in it's infancy. It is quite strange how different the various banks behave when they receive a DMP letter. I heard from coop, capital1 and LIoydstsb immediately but nothig from b4rclaycard. I have just phoned them and they have agreed to freeze interest for us. Phew!
I am over my limit on b4rclaycard so need to find £79 to put me within credit somehow. Not sure but I am presuming I will be charged for being over limit??business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

In the meantime 2 or 3 of my creditors will not have received any payment. What should I do about that ?
