Hi All,
Could anyone give me an average ball park figure for F+F on £30k.

If old man plays ball could possibly have 8-10k to offer.
Thanks

Hello all,
Just posting to say good morning to all my fellow DFWs on this lovely sunny Sunday
Not much happening on the DMP front, but still on for 1st July start. Car issue almost sorted, so just waiting to get the new tax code we need and we'll be off the starting blocks -finally
Have sent off my June token payments and only getting a few reminders through the post about arrears owing. I guess these are mostly automated, because I've spoken to all creditors, so they know the deal. Still getting charges levied, but I expected that until SC contacts them.
Finding new ways of saving money - as I said, we are spending this month as if we are on DMP already and looking for grocery bargains whenever we shop - buying lots of the basic value goods, rather than the branded ones. So far okay.
Also buying two for one, if it's something we use a lot -and only buying the food we eat a day or two in advance, so we minimise waste.
Also I've stayed away from City shops so I don't get tempted to spend on something I don't need (even though this month I have extra to play with) and although I'm not quite fit enough to bike to work every day, I'm walking in the mornings (3 miles) to save the bus fare one way at least.
Also I found by taking cash out at the beginning of the week and not using my debit card, I'm much more aware of how much I'm spending. For example I didn't realise how much I spend on teas and coffees at work -so have cut that right back.
All small things I know, but it's a start to a change in spending habits that I hope will stand me in good stead for the years ahead.LBM: March 2013 / DMP Start: 1 July 2013 / 14 Creditors

This is one of the best bits of advice I was given - It's so easy to spend £20 or more over the course of the week without realising you've done so...0 -
Quick question please guys...
I've sent my dmp plan back to SC so I guess wheels are in motion for everything to start on 1st July...
I'm about to send out the letters and token payments to my creditors, is it best to send all of these recorded delivery?
Thanks0 -

I think it's worth the money to send recorded delivery and track record from some shows they try to say they never got it. I made sure I got value for money by making sure letter contained everything at the same time, eg request to freeze interest and only to contact me in writing.
Good Luck.

I sent out the letters which payplan sent me but LIoydsTb have already been in contact to say they haven't received the letter just the finacial information. I wish I had kept a copy of the payplan letter. I asked for another copy but haven't received anything yet.
The other problem is I can't remember exactly what the payplan letter said about contact etc. Things are quiet ATM and new account is now set up with benefits going into it. Just need to get DH's pension paid in and all should run smoothly.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi everyone, Ive just asked this on the ask a debt advisor a question but il ask your opinions too.
My DMP with stepchange started in February, my payment is taken on the 10th which is usually fine and most creditors playing ball.
My car has just had MOT and needs some work doing on it. I cannot manage without my car so need to get the work done. My emergency fund was wiped out with repairs to house when bad winds hit last month. Do you think stepchange will let me pay on the 14th this month, just once so I can get repairs done? DH gets paid on 14th so can replace the money I need for repairs. Do you think they might allow this? Hopefully next time Il have a healthier emergency fund.0 -
Good people of this august site, I am proud to announce that I made my last payment to Payplan today.
(And logged onto my bank account to cancel the SO, so I dont pay them next month by mistake !).
I am not declaring myself DF (yet !) as I am waiting for them to confirm by 24th June 2013, that the final payment (plus the additional one I made last month), have been allocated and the balances with my 4 creditors are now nil.
How do I feel ?? - liberated that I owe nothing and happy that I have paid back everything in full (including extra interest to HBOS).
I have already booked a long promised holiday with my dad for next year and I am also thinking of other long term plans.
I couldnt have got here without the support of my family, who have given me moral support in spades, and my dad who who has chipped in with the odd bit of money here and there.
I would also like to thank Payplan, who over the last 90 months, have been absolutely brilliant in dealing with my creditors, Payplan certainly took a load of my mind !.
And most of all, I would like to thank everyone who posts here (you know who you are !), you have been inspiration to me and to the others who were in the rapidly sinking lifeboat called debt, and (like me) decided to deal with it !.
Has it been easy over the last 90 months ?? definitely not, but once I decided to deal with my debt, I felt strangely liberated because I was in control, not the debt.
Good luck to you all, and I hope to see you all in DF land soon !
(Here endeth the lesson).0 -
