  • evening all :)

Sorry I have been absent for a while, laptop issues, and I cant log in on my phone but I have been lurking and reading how everyone is doing, glad to see so many of us on this journey together, I am feeling so much better, month 3 now and boy has it made a huge difference, No phone calls, hardly any letters, I can sleep at night, and I still have (granted not a lot) but some money left in my bank at the end of the month!!

Hope everyone is well, I hope to be able to stick around more now, roll on the 25th, so I can view this months statement on stepchange!!

  • There is a post somewhere about Barclaycard and their rules. We don't have any debts with them but am sure someone stated they have set amounts where particular interest rates kick in.

HH may know but I will try and find the post for you.

    Edited to say found it:

It may be worth sending eyeopener2 a message and asking about it.

MS TTFTM, you will come back as a librarian you know! Great find though, you whizz :)

E2 is a pal from the Paddlers thread, I'm sure he will have no problem telling you it like it is. He's a good egg too :)

This is why I usually say if you are able to save to put away just to clear the plan early rather than playing the poker game of some re introducing interest.

Personal choice and all that, no rights or wrongs etc.

In the process of making full and final settlements, waiting to hear from some creditors - LLoyds and bank of Ireland. The money is from a third party.

But in the meantime, I am struggling with the budget, as my fuel home insurance ,childcare and utilities have all gone up.

I got £295 a year pay rise but this is wiped out by changes my pension contributions.

Can I redo my budget even though I (hopefully) will be clear of at least some of these debts soon? I am with Payplan.I will ask at Payplan but I want to be armed with some information first.

I agree with Ms TTFTM. Good luck on getting it sorted. I hear PP are more relaxed with FF than SC.

Also with any DMP provider but particularly PP make sure you keep a record of your balances as people often post on here the differences between what the providor says still owed and what actually is. That way no nasty shocks. One of the things you learn is that no one will look after your money better than you will.

Good to hear from you and glad things are settling. Sometimes statements are available a few days early even though they don't pay until the 25th.

It still feels weird not logging on there for me. Also feels strange seeing the creditors on my bank statements again! All heading in the right direction though. :)

Hello everyone. I can't quite work out my SC statement. I am paying extra every month now my car loan has finished yet my DFD is still the same. I am somewhat confused:huh:

    Hi GUO

Frustrating I know but they mostly preset it at the start or the budget review. For example my DFD was much earlier on SC as they didn't factor in some predictors were charging me interest. Your own record is the most important. If anyone doesn't have it already best to print off the statements and get one built.

Have you worked out your own DFD? Wish I could make everyone's DFD sooner.

  • I know there is a big difference between what Payplan say I still owe to Barclaycard and what Barclaycard want because the interest is still being added by BC. Payplan know this, (seem happy for me to pay BC what PP think I owe them because if I paid more the interest would go up even more) so I was wondering if anyone has finished a DMP with either CC or PP and what happened when they asked the companies for the final total? Did they negotiate to get the interest refunded or anything or ask if you had any spare money to offer a F&F on the interest added?

Having read through multiple threads, I wonder what criteria CC have for freezing interest?

BC were one of the first to reply to me stating that interest was frozen. It appears they don't do it for everyone?

Barclaycard and the Bank of Scotland are the only creditors out of my 19 that are still applying interest (albeit at a reduced level). When B/C took over my Egg cards no interest was added - maybe cos it had already been frozeen.

You would think there would be consistency - but guess that really is hoping too much.

Have a good weekend. The sun is shining brightly here - long may it last:j

That sounds about right in that i have four creditors three cc/loan and od with HBOS and other with Barclaycard and sadly for me i am still being charged interest. However BC said they were but the statement doesnt show so on that one i am not enteriely sure as am paying about 50% of minimum payment on that but still the highest payment to creditors. Its interesting to see how its different for all.
