For those who had the second year interest: what is the fastest way to move your money off the account?

Mine is due for its second anniversary today and am thinking to move the money all away to the associated Lloyds current account before they open any tracker, but I still cannot see the interest. So I think I cannot really do anything until then as I am not sure how much it will be.

    Any suggestions?

You won't be able to avoid them opening the new account - in my case, it was an 'Easy Saver' not a tracker (still crap interest though). And they credited interest at 23.30 on the day it was due, so they're anxious to eke out a day's low interest at the very least. If you have internet banking, simply transfer it to your current account. If not, you will have to go into your branch, but still get it into your current account where you will be getting between 4-6%. After that, well look around, there's plenty of 7% fixed deals out there.

    Hi Carpy

I'm in the same position as you, my 2 year account matured on the 12th as well and mine hasn't had interest added or moved either.

Does anyone know if the transfer of my saving to my current account will count towards the £1k funding requirement, or does it have to be new money?

Nothing is credited over the weekend. This is the 1st available working day. I personally wouldn't move any cash until the interest has been credited. I'll have a small bet with you that it gets credited late tonight. If it matures on the 12th, I wouldn't expect that you will still attract 8%. If it doesn't go in this evening, I would query it tomorrow.
