Quick question, does anyone know if I could sneak in an extra payment? In year 1 I moved my Standing order from 20th to the 1st so had 13 payments of £250 + the £500 first deposit. Now its due to mature on 13th July can I get a payment in on 1st June and 1st July (making it 25 deposits) or will it just bounce back?

Also, anyone had any problems closing there L TSB account? Already done a test payment of £10 to my Nationwide account so I'm ready to clean it out.

I don't see why you shouldn't do that - and get an extra 60p before tax.

I wanted to revive this as the date is drawing near for the early accounts to mature. My account still has 2 payments left to make but I don't want it to all go into a Tracker account. Got it earmarked for spends!! :j

If anyone wants to share their interest again then it would be most interesting.

Mine has just matured with second year interest at £356 NET so together with £148 NET in the first year a very respectable total return of £504 ! :j

Come on Lloyds let's have another one !

Mine's due 1 June - will have to get ready to whip it away into my A+L e-saver immediately.

Mine is not due for completion until next Jan but I was wondering if I could set up a direct transfer to another account in advance rather that wait and withdraw on the final day.

Hmm...... I always want to make sure that the money I think should be in the account actually IS in the account before I move it - can't do that in advance.

Mine is due in October 08 and I'll be sure I'm quick to move it out once interest will be paid out, unless of course they'll introduce a 10% RS!;)

For those who had the second year interest: what is the fastest way to move your money off the account?

Mine is due for its second anniversary today and am thinking to move the money all away to the associated Lloyds current account before they open any tracker, but I still cannot see the interest. So I think I cannot really do anything until then as I am not sure how much it will be.

    Any suggestions?

The best way might be to transfer by BACS from the current account - after you transfer the amount(s) across from the 8% account. Remember that Lloyds pays interest on the time it takes to transfer payments elsewhere (at 6%*?) You might like to break down your transfers/withdrawals from the monthly saver rather than try to move it all at once - always keeping the balance on the current account below £2500..

    *only applies if you

    1) have a classic 'plus' lloyds current account
    2) have been paying in £1K + monthly
    3) have asked for the higher rate of interest (+2% for 12 months)
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
