  • blimey, every day!! - life is too short.
You only get a towel damp with clean shower/bath water, so you can let it dry somewhere and re - use still it stops smelling nice and fresh... realistically a week, or even 2 is often enough!
What's the worse that can happen? Especially if you stick to your own towel. I've never hear of anyone catching anything nasty from their OWN towel - although bugs like conjunctivitus and ringworm can be transferred by sharing towels.

Once a week for us - we all have our own towels.

My dd's childminder has quite a good system - considering she has lots of small children using her bathroom. When they've washed their hands they dry them on a flannel and the flannel goes in a wash basket next to the basin. She bought lots of cheap flannels for this purpose and children can dry their own hands quite easily as the size of a flannel is just right for them.

We all let our towels dry on the banister after using them. They are then washed after the second use. Hand towels changed every day, the same with face cloths, t-towels and cloths.:rotfl:

That's me too I'm afraid (although the OH is actually in charge of washing in our house). Towels get washed when they look grubby or start not to smell very fresh. I don't think I live in filth... and if I do it's not harmed us yet! :rotfl:

Bath towels - we all have our own, they get washed once a week after we've been swimming on Sunday morning when they are used for the last time!

Hand towels - because we're all using them, every couple of days.

Tea towels - use a fresh one every day.

Face flannels - every other day.

i wash him once a week. i'm thinking that when i've had a shower or bath, i come out clean. so i'm only wiping clean water off myself really. it's a little extreme to wash them every time they get used. think of the environment!!

Having a bit if a clear out and post winter clean today! It's got me wondering if we just have too much stuff?
So far I have put a big bag of clothes for charity, mainly the kids summer stuff that I know won't get used again but would normally keep just in case!
Anyway my main issues is towels, they seem to be breeding and we tend to shower daily and get a fresh one then leave in bedroom to dry but it never gets used again and normally ends up on the kids floor! In fact I have just picked up 6 towels from ds floor to wash!!!!?!!
So I thought, what if I bin all the towels, get one each for us and a couple of hand towels. Wash them sy Wednesday and sunday and in between they have to reuse their own towel!
Does this sound feesable or am I missing a need to have more of them
    Thanks x
