The only other person I've heard doing this is Victor Meldrew:rotfl:
My Nan used to always make us use the dish cloth to wipe our wet hands before she would let us use her kitchen handtowel!I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!
I seem to have a nasty habit of killing threads!0 -

We have a heated towel rail which dries out the (barely damp) towels. It's just me and the OH so we have 1 bath towel each and a communal hand towel. I wash these all, along with my teatowels, once a week.
I do the bathmat (one of those shagpile type ones!), the oven mitts and cushion covers once a month.0 -
Yep, I do almost the same as KittyKat - OH and I each have a hand towel and a bath towel and they are dried on the heated towel rail after use. I wash everything once a week, including the shower and loo mats, just so I don't forget to do them, it's a lot easier for me to sling them all in at the same time.
I do have tea towels but they're barely used because we use the DW for just about everything in the kitchen, but they get washed once a week on a hot wash too.
However when the Young Flitters are home from uni, this all goes to pot :rotfl: I find festering wet towels EVERYWHERE :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :mad:

Our handtowels get washed every other day cos we all share them. The girls have their own bath towels which are washed once a week (they have 3 baths a week) and OH and I have our own bath towels which I wash a couple of times a week.
Kitchen towels get washed when they are grubby and I shove the kitchen cloth in the WM every night when I put a load on.
I have a friend who washes every towel after use and has 5 loads of washing a day. :eek:0 -
We have our own bath and face towels which get washed weekly, although more often if they seem to need it - daily showers mean they're only used to dry clean peopleafter all!Resolution:

Once a week for our shower towels we each have our own towel.
Peach = mine
Light Blue = Dad
Lilac = Daughter
Dk Blue = Son
Twice a week for hand towels, teatowels get changed everyday but are saved up and washed really hot. Wash up sponges and clothes are likewise saved up hot washed and then either re used or used for cleaning.0 -
Thanks to this thread, I've just been likened to Victor Meldrew... :rotfl:
I too use a flannel to dry myself.
I put a dry one over the side of the screen and when I have showered, I grab a small towel to wrap around my head and then dry myself using the flannel. I like to think it gets the circulation going.
I can then just pop my dressing gown back on before getting dressed.
The flannels are washed every use.
Hair towels every 2 or 3 uses.
I'm the only one who does this, OH and DD think I'm a saddo. (their towels get changed every 2-3 times)
Hand towels are changed every day, but they are a true hand towel size at 14" x 21"Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
I use a mixture of the methods and ideas on here... firstly, I'm slowly and surely changing to all white towels as they need replacing, makes life so much easier for washing and looks good too.
OH and I have a bath sheet each (identified by which towel rail it hangs on) and shower once or twice a day so i am in the 'clean body' camp. Then we have a hand towel out, changed when needed (usually every couple of days). I use flannels and Liz Earle cloths daily, a fresh one each day. I hang the wet ones over the inside of the laundry bin so they dry out a bit but are mostly hidden. Everything gets washed when there is a load, usually one a week, sometimes two if we have been to the gym/if I have been fake tanning.
Kitchen wise - a clean tea towel each day, saved up as above.
Definitely think the best thing I did was get towels all in the same colour. Years ago, I had blue, cream, white, brown... a laundry nightmare!

There is just OH and I. We have our own bath towels (in fact we have our own bathrooms). I have 2 towels, one for my body and one for my hair, OH just has the one towel.
We both shower every day and hang the towels on the towel rails to dry (heated only when central heating is on) - they dry just fine and never smell.
I wash the towels and bathroom co-ordinates (hand towels, bathmats and pedastal mats) once every week to 10 days.
We don't use face clothes, we wash with our hands (and soap of course).
Tea towles : when they look dirty enough they go in the wash basket (we have a DW so we don't use teatowels that much)
Downstairs bathroom hand towel once a week (except when OH's mates come over - then every 2 hours :rolleyes: although at least they ARE washing their hands!!!)Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0
