I have been washing my towels every time someone in the house has a shower or bath....i remember my mum used to wash towels only once a week and we each had our own towel.
What does everyone else do? Do i wash my towels too often (i do at least one load of washing a day, even more when i wash bed clothes). There are only two adults and two children (9 & 7) in the house.

I wash mine once a week, unless a smell test suggests they need to be washed sooner. After being used for a shower or bath, a towel is hung over the banister on the landing to dry between uses. Handtowels usually last about three days, cos they get more use, but then they wait in the washing basket for the end of the week when I wash all the towels together.A well balanced life is a glass in each hand0 -
Hand Towel as often as needed (why do they wash thier hands ON the towel sigh) others if used for say just hair or 'clean areas' then 2 to 3 uses but if say a bath towel has been used for 'private parts drying' after bath or shower then it gets washed - I dont do a special wash for them tho just in with the other washing. They all get a hot or long deep clean probably once a fortnight if they have been used, tends to work out white towel inc tea towels one week & dark towel the nextI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

I do a towel wash weekly usually if good weather, midweek if bad weather so they have chance to dry on airers, but have enough to just pile them up after they have been used. Have always just used one towel for drying and all areas done in hygenic order, so all are used on 'private parts' etc. We have a routine with boys after bath, top to middle, bottom to middle, then the middle. Hand towels with having 2 boys and a partner who is always doing something dirty tend to last 24 hours tops. One day I might be more organised...........

Changed at least every other day for our bath towels and hand towels. Tea towel replaced daily.
When I was a child I don't remember us all having our own towel but then again we didn't bath or shower daily. Bathing was twice a week and me and sister closest in age to me would have a clean towel each but I think they were put to dry and my parents used after us. My brother was 8 years older than me and probably had his own smelly towel and eldest sister had left home by the time I was 6 so don't remember. Things were so different then. Hot water was an expensive commodity and we shared baths. If I the bath water was 'clean' after me or sister my mother would jump in. Also washing was harder work with a twin tub.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

We all have our own towels and I do think that makes a big difference to how often you wash them. There is no way I'm dabbing my eyebrows with a towel someone else has fettled their 'tail-ends' with, even once:D
The kidz towels are washed once a week, they have a rail in their rooms to thoroughly dry them between uses so they never smell musty. Face clothes are done 2/3 times a week.
Mrs MATH's and my towels are done twice a week, my afce clothes 3 times a week and Mrs MATH's muslin clothes daily due to the foundation and other over-priced grease they remove each night. LOLLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
theres only me in the house so I have no danger of using a towel thats been near someone else's bits!
I tend to use 2 towels if I have a bath or shower, 1 for me and 1 for my hair! I put them to dry over the airer thats in my walk in airing cupboard after I have used them then will use them 1 more time then they are in the wash! So thats a bath sheet (for me ) and bath towel (for the hair) every 2 days for me. They all then get washed together once a week on a hot wash.
Hand towel gets changed every 2 to 3 daysBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -

You only drying a clean body with it so it can't be that dirty!!Our dream has come true...0 -
I only wash mine once a week
When they have been used I air mine then reuse with the exception when my stepson uses one it goes straight in the washing basket (smelly teenager)0 -
Tea towels are done daily, hand towels are either daily or every other day, and bath towels depends on who has used it and when/why. Quite often, i have a shower in the morning, the children have baths/showers and then its washed. Sometimes ive used it once, and i keep it for the following day when i use it again!!!
The childminding children all have their own hand towel, and again, they are washed either daily or every other day.0 -
Both me and DH have our own towels, and woe be told him if he uses my towels instead of his own ones..
We both have one towel for hair, one for drying ourselves and t'other one for wrapping around ourselves to go from bathroom to bedroom. And they all get hung up to dry afterwards. His in the airing cupboard, mine over the banister, towel rail and end of t'bed.
These get washed once a week, face flannels are changed twice a week and the wet one is allowed to dry thoroughly before putting in the wash bin. Hand towels are changed weekly unless they are needed to be changed before hand.. Tea towels are changed every other day, bearing in mind though I have four teatowels on the go at once..Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
