I "wasn't" in to receive my mail...

Royal mail has given me their little red 'you were out' cards, I wasn't out
I have had 2 of these cards in 2 days, the first time, I was in the flat as well as my 4/5 flatmates (technically 4, but Sophie's boyfriend practically lives here). The boys were waiting around for a mate to knock on the door. None of us heard a knock on the door, next thing I know, someone's at the door, in the letterbox is a red royal mail slip claiming I was out when they tried to deliver my mail.........
There were only 3 of us in the flat this morning........ I answered the door to a friend at 10:00, there was another red slip waiting on the mat claiming that I was out when delivery was attempted...at 10:20 that same day.:wall::wall::wall:
Now I have to arrange redelivery as the sorting office is too far away (4 miles each way, not on a bus route), there is no way that the postman knocked and both times went completely unheard by everyone in the flat.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Also, they didn't fill in the numbers like they're supposed to, which is just a little more added hassle.:(
Anyone else experiencing this with RM?

You need to complain to your Post Office.

Yes, it happened to me last week. I was absolutely fuming because it was something I had ordered for a birthday and I was in all day waiting for it. The card arrived at 3pm and I had checked the doormat about 10 mins earlier. In the end I had to arrange a re-delivery for Monday this week and was practically pacing the floor waiting for it. It arrived at 4pm, which I think is ridiculous. I am absoutely positive the postman didn't ring the doorbell when the "not in" card arrived. I was in on my own pottering about really quietly and our doorbell is really loud.

You need to complain to your Post Office.

    Why?
Does the Post Office deliver mail?
The OP is referring to Royal Mail

complaining to the post office won't achieve anything, you need to complain to your delivery office, the details of which will be on the red card you received.

    Have you checked the date?
The biggest issue IME with this was unable to gain access the day before and delivering the P739(red card) the day after

Thanks, but the dates match up, the times seem to be picked at random. I'm really annoyed as I've had to spend ages on hold as they didn't write down either item number, on either card, so I had to call to get the number in order to arrange redelivery.
