just google royal mail delivery office "your town" and you can normally find a direct number, you cut out the middle man then and can talk directly to the delivery office

    not always true
there are some offices with numbers that direct to the redelivery system
    so called 'high impact' offices

This is just bad service from your postie - they bring the cards rather than the parcels so that they can finish their round early - the parcels stay in the van. Complain to delivery office, eventually they get found out and sacked.
How is filling in and delivering a card any quicker than delivering the parcel?

I suppose they might do it so they can do the whole lot of flats in one go, as there are ~500 tenants, but over Christmas, when I was genuinely not here, the old delivery guy just dropped them off at reception, using the man who was there as a neighbour, and that was fine with everyone, and he didn't even have to go door to door.

    I think you mean:
Probably because you live in a flat, I.E. too many stairs, too many doors, etc. Basically they can't be bothered.

Just typing seven more letters and using the shift key makes the post much more readable. Using text speak makes you sound juvenile.

Not really, he's doubtless made a few people laugh at the chav and his 'dumb teenager' posting style. :rotfl:

Cards are a lot lighter than parcels. If you had 10 people on a route who had biggish packages (small enough to carry but lots when they're added up), I don't blame the postie for just taking cards.
That being said, I absolutely hate it when it's a 'sorry you weren't in' card.
