The number? You mean tracking number?0 -
Where it says item number is blank.0

yes but did it have an item number?
not all items do.
if they didnt tick recorded, tracked or special delivery
then it wont have one0 -
They didn't tick tracked, but I had a working tracking number for each item. They ticked recorded signed for. The reason it couldn't be delivered is because a signature is required.0

I wouldnt bother calling
simply put the redelivery request through as a normal item
P739 quality is something being flagged up within RM at the moment
So staff should be being pushed to fully complete them0 -
Happens frequently here. Caught the postie out once - putting a red card in the post box, hadn't knocked (of course) and I saw him on cctv so caught him out nicely - asked for the item and he admitted he had not brought it with him, just a card. It didn 't happen again for a few months until a new postie took the route. Still happens quite a bit these days. No point complaining - they just deny everything and anyhow, there are no contact phone numbers for the local sorting depot anywhere, complaints are handled centrally and not very well. Its a defensive culture which just fobs you off with excuses and how everything is somehow your fault, not RMs.0

you sure?
I know of some DOs that have a non geographic number but many still have standard numbers.
complaints filed through CS still go to the delivery offices
so keep complaining and flagging up issues
repeat complaints flag up on a different section of the system0 -

Used to happen here, too - it was almost as if the Postie expected you to be out, so came prepared for that eventuality. Now over time our Posties have learnt that someone is normally in the house during the day, so they bring the item.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Sometimes you can't win! This Tuesday I had a tracked item to deliver, music playing loudly, pressed the bell, no answer, knocked, no answer, knocked even louder, still no answer, even knocked on the open window but still no joy, as it was tracked we weren't allowed to leave it with a neighbour so I had no option but to return it to the office with a card left at the address.
Completed the rest of the walk and lo and behold when I returned to the office there was a complaint that I hadn't attempted delivery!
On another occasion I was accused of not attempting delivery and that I should press the bell button harder to make a louder noise!!!!!!!0 -
This is just bad service from your postie - they bring the cards rather than the parcels so that they can finish their round early - the parcels stay in the van. Complain to delivery office, eventually they get found out and sacked. If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0
