Well, I think a business is doomed to fail if £20K+ contracts go without any consideration and any paperwork.
Even by 200% like in this case?

Yes, by any percentage they like. I assume in this case the small print says that the price is only fixed for the first 12m of the contract.
Unjust? Yes. A complete stitch-up? Yes. But perfectly legal.
Why do people take out business contracts without checking the details? Establishing the minimum term is surely fundamental.

I think this is nonsense. Even if it were the case it wouldn't stand a court challenge under unfair contracts law. I assume that it was a discount for 12 months and all the 'victims' just failed to read the contract.
Establishing the minimum term is surely fundamental.
So is establishing the price and all other important details, like discounts.

Hi danie11,

It's a shame to read about your experience but thanks for making me aware of it.

If you'd like me to take a closer look at things could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

To ensure that it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

Unfortunately the company that i work for also took out a contract through Wish Communications for Vodafone, and the whole thing has been absoloutley diabolical.

We still have 18 months remaining on the contract, we have no service or signal on any of our phones.

Since we took the contract out and the problems started immediately Vodafone have been and done a check in the area and we are in a area where we can not receive a signal.

Vodafone and Wish have said that there is nothing further they can do - they are in breach of there contract but will not let us cancel it unless we pay £14,000 in termination fees. Alternatively we have been told we can carry on with no signal for the remainder of the contract or we can pay to have multiple masts fitted at £4000 each which may help but it is not guaranteed.

The overall customer service and satisfaction with Wish and Vodafone is very very poor and I would advise anyone who is considering using these companies to seriously re-consider.

Also something Wish do not tell you at time of contract is that after your first 12 months your costs treble in monthly.

Please anyone researching before signing do not make the same mistake my company did.

Hi Damant,

If you'd also like me to look into the concerns you've raised could you email me with the relevant details as per the contact information provided above?

Kind regards,

• I am only a sole trader, running a very small business. I had no idea of the unfriendly world of mobile contracts. We had a good relationship with single contracts with O2 and T-Mobile, but the salesman told us that we would save money by combining them into a business contract. He deliberately mis-led us into thinking that the contract would be £90 a month for the 24 months. We did not ask for 12 SIM cards. In the end they disconnected 7 of them when we complained. They gave us an Ipad only, no phones were offered.

It means that I will end up being over £1500 out of pocket after 2 years. I was trapped once I signed. We were not given line rental costing or the terrible disconnection charges by Vodafone of over £5000!. We could not afford to have taken the contract to a solicitor, as we always had a good experience before. Did not realise we were being stitched by the severe contractual obligations.

Just like Damant, there are many such cases on the internet . This type of selling has to stop.

• I to have had similar experiences as those before me on here, once we were out of contract (and even that was difficult to find out from wish communications now trading as Olive, I had to make at least 4 phone calls and no one ever gets back to you!) I then made it my mission to complain to Vodafone and get the information I needed to get away from Wish myself. If you need a pac code or want to cancel your contract, you need to email vpssalesretentions@help.vodafone.co.uk. Use the email which is registered with the company, include in your email, your account no, mobile nos, your contact no including the contact no of the company registered and give a brief description of what you need.
I did this, next day I had notification of when would be disconnected from wish :T
Gone direct with Vodafone now, so much easier.
• I dont know if anyone can help me in this situation but I am tearing my hair out! Firstly I had no communication regarding Wish Communications moving over to Olive (but there all the same people, they just changed company name due to the fact of how many complaints they were getting). I cancelled my contract with what I thought was Wish due to the fact of the phones which they gave me didnt work what so ever, I dont know if anyone else had problems with the nokia lumias? They wouldn't replace them, only fix them without a replacement handset so we would be without mobile phones, which is pointless? So we were stuck. I moved over to another company. The first time I heard from Olive was 3 months after I cancelled my contract with a massive bill demanding payment. I then also receive a massive bill from Vodafone, so now I have been charged twice for cancelling my contract. They gave me no warning of the charges, until 3 months later when it was too late to do anything about it. Not only are they charging me for my line rental, they are charging for the phones (which didn't work), the sims (which are normally free) and the line rental on top of vodafones bill. Has anyone else had the same this now with Olive?

• I have already spoken to Vodafone partner services and they are quite happy with Olive charging these extreme amounts and say they have the right to do this. So I am stuck with no option to pay these amounts. As a customer of vodafone I feel like I have been very badly treated with the fact that they are using these middle man companies and charging businesses the earth even though the hardware in my case which was supplied didn't hold up there end of the contract. It is an appalling way to treat customers.

Missajp1308 by all means call in to Olive and discuss this with me I am the Chief Operating Officer and to be very clear what you have been charged would have been clearly evident in our terms and conditions of Business prior to the contract commencing. I would also ask that with regard to why we are now called "Olive" you fully understand the facts. The company Wish Communications was in fact Acquired by Olive Communications in Sept 2013 and ALL customer were written to informing them of this.
