Kerrygold solid, kept in a butter dish. All power is from within and therefore under our control0

Lescure - frying an onion in some Lescure is completely different class. Bread spread with it is also amazing.
Its a sweetcream butter from France and is utterly delish.
Also quite like president or jersey gold.
I prefer solid butter.
The 'm' word (which isn't actually sold in Britain anymore) or even spreads have no place in my fridge0 -
Kerrygold. I also like Calonwen (Welsh organic butter) or Sainsbury TTD butter from Jersey cows. It's always kept at room temperature in a butter dish.
Never buy spreadable, mostly they are blended with vegetable oils - yuck!0 -
I have been saying this for years - you will never convince me that 'processed' margarines and 'spreads' are better for you than a natural product like butter'!!!!!!!!!!
The only 'processing' in making butter is to churn or shake the cream! nothing added, nothing taken away!
I love butter and use it in baking and to spread - and as I dont make cakes or sandwiches every day - it is a treat which is enjoyed in moderation!
oh and it has to be 'block' butter. I buy unsalted - but only because I prefer to monitor how much salt I want to add.
I try loads of different brands - but my favourite is cornish butter, but, thats by a very short margin - all pure butters are acceptable.0 -
Well it used to be Anchor until they switched production to the UK and, tastewise, it's a shadow of it's former self. I think President is the next choice for me. Reminds me of French exchange trips and the pretty French girl I never had the balls to practice my French on!!! Oh well. Has to be solid though, spreadable is as bad as that edible plastic otherwise known as margarine...0

DH insists on spreadable so it's Lurpak as often as not, unless Country Life is cheaper. I don't often use spreads, but I might just get myself some President next time I'm shopping; haven't had that in 20-odd years. I grew up on real butter in a butter dish until Mum discovered Clover - revolting stuff."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

spreadable butter is vile - why take something perfectly good and blend it with vegetable oil!!
President unsalted for preference but aldi unsalted does day to dayPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

President unsalted for me too. Also it's £1.55 in my local Waitrose, as opposed to £1.60 in Sainsburys.
Every little helps.0 -
Another vote here for lurpak! I use spreadable normally but I have both in the fridge as I tend to buy whichever is on special offer.Saving money like a trouper...0

Interesting! There seems to be a pretty clear divide between Lurpakites and Presidentials.....
Think I will just sneak in a quick vote for Bridel with sea salt crystals - though I will no longer buy it due to the price.0
