Eh ? Colour me Confused here.. hmm do you mean that the organic food I buy might not be organic ?
Obviously, I can never be 101% sure, but I don't buy anything labelled organic which doesn't have a certification from either The Soil Association or another certifying body plus EU organic leaf logo. I won't buy USDA organic because the standards are lower.
Secondly, although I buy most of my food via Ocado, Abel & Cole and Riverford my eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese and chicken for example all come from named farms or organic co-operatives.
If it's all certified and therefore traceable and most of it comes from named farms/co-operatives I hope that it's what it says it is.
Findus beef lasagne isn't certified by anyone.
There was a farmer on BBC today saying people should buy British Red Tractor and though that doesn't mean non GM fed, it is more traceable and Lidl stocks lots of it.0 -
I wonder how long before they find some burgers made with Soylent Green? :rotfl:0

reduce them to 10p and I'll take them off your hands along with the value spag bol Tesco! Us students can't be fussy and call me a cynic here but since the FSA totally missed this and it was only because the Irish authority happened upon it, I imagine we'll find out this horse meat situation has been going on for quite some time, it's already said it could have been happening since August. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been going on years and people have been eating it no problem tbh.0

Nonsense! The Jockey Club said it was fine!
Well if it's a thoroughbred lasagne that would be OK cos they have passports but if racehorses they could have been given phenylbutazone (bute) which ain't good for humans (aplastic anaemia, cancer).
But if you're cheapskate enough to use horsemeat it's more likely that you're stuffing in Dobbin rather than a horse like Frankel (who starts stud duties on 14th Feb)0 -
My son and I had a lasagne eating contest. He won by a short head :rotfl:0

The more I read and hear about this, the more grateful I am that I made the decision 'to go vegetarian' some 35 years ago.0
