Which you will lose, and have to pay costs for.
You are receiving some sort of service from them, so must pay for that service.

Wait until their call centre is open and ask them to sort it out for you.

Not really sure what the equipment has to do with it. If you don't pay you've defaulted. They can send out a reminder and if you still fail to pay they can default you. Their Ts&Cs clearly state they may share information with credit reference agencies.

It's the same for any utility company.

Only utility company's that you pay after receiving the services there for a credit agreement has been entered into, with Sky you do not.

It cannot effect your credit rating if you never actually owe them anything.

There call center is down because of bad weather. Do i have the right to refuse to pay? I might change to virgin next year if they offer all the sports including ESPN

I wouldn't bother - ESPN won't be seeing 2013 out at the rate they are going.

    BT Sports on the otherhand...

Says here, under the "Utilities comapnies & your file" heading that they reserve the right to share defaults or missed payments: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/credit-rating-credit-score#gas

It says in their terms and conditions that they may share information with CRA's. They also say they may share you details for debt collection purposes. With the "may share information with CRA's" clause any DCA the debt gets assigned to can default you.

I wouldn't like to put it to the test.

No you havent, both British Gas and Virgin media have credit license because either/and you run a credit account or rent equipment both covered by the need for a licence.

I also posted you all the details from Equifax a good few posts ago regarding who can effect your scoring, I cant hand hold some random internet tough guy though it.

Why have you posted a link to a thread about a name change, which, incidentally, has absolutely nothing to do with defaults?

If you don't pay, Sky will pass your debt on to a DCA. The DCA will then chase payment. If they don't get payment you'll end up in court. If you still don't pay it you'll have a lovely new CCJ on your file. Now tell me it doesn't affect your credit file?

    Internet tough guy.... *sigh*

You are having difficulty with this issue, I understand that, but it seems strange for you to ask me to explain it to you, I do so and provide all the details for your further research, and then yo become abusive, that would not happen face to face, hence you are an internet tough guy.

    *Yawn*

You've provided nothing. I've haven't asked you to explain anything.

    Oh wow! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Absolute classic that one. I don't need you to explain anything, because you're wrong :T:T:T:T:T

It's in black and white that Sky may share information with CRA's and DCA's for debt collection purposes. So they CAN affect your credit file.

Just because they don't doesn't mean they won't. I even provided a link on this very site that states clearly that they haven't shared info but have reserved the right to.

Not sure what's so hard for you to understand.
