On "Online Standard (No Standing Charge) with Scottish. Considering switching. But this tariff not shown on CEC drop down list as far as I can see. Any ideas please?
Scottish Power has removed this tariff and is moving everyone on to the standing charge version, so that's the one to pick in the dropdown.0 -
I used the cheap energy club to switch to npower on the 15th Oct because my current tariff was going up on the 15th November and it stated if I switched and they were aware of the switch within 20 working days of the 15th November I have the right to end my contract with hydro electric.
I have heard nothing from Npower so phoned them today and they said they know nothing about the switch!!!
Although on the cheap energy club page it is showing switch in progress!!!
Looks like I am going to end up stuck on my current tariff till the deal ends on it in May 2014!!!
Can anyone advise me on my switch and why I have not heard anything and why Npower know nothing of my switch and I have not been informed of this?
Hi
There are currently pretty big delays with switching as the suppliers have been swamped by demand, Npower is particularly bad our users are telling us. If you email energyclubhelp at moneysavingexpert dot com we can take a look for you.

I have tried to register but I keep getting a message in the bottom left hand corner of my screen saying it is "resolving host" but nothing happens.
Is the club still open for business?

I posted this comment elsewhere on the site before I saw this thread so apologies for repeating myself.
I joined Green Energy Club, compared prices and made the switch to M&S Energy back in August. The MSE site said that I would get £30 cashback.
Despite me clarifying that with M&S on the phone back in August (after reading their T&Cs), I just received a letter saying that I will not be getting it because "it is not part of your M&S Energy Fix and Save tariff terms and conditions". Instead they sent a £5 voucher as a gesture of goodwill.
I've just phoned M&S, and they are saying that it's all MSE's fault because the website had the wrong information on it... I've told them that it leaves a really nasty taste in the mouth because once again, they (as a big corporation) have got the business anyway and it will cost me to leave if I remain dissatisfied and aggrieved...
Don't know who I'm most annoyed with - MSE or M&S..I'm now wondering if the comparison that I was given in the first place is reliable...I trusted that the information provided by MSE was safe.
Thanks MSE - for reminding us that even if we, the consumers, avoid being eaten by the sharks, there's plenty of bottom feeders who'll do the job instead.0 -

I used the Cheap Energy Club to switch to Npower. The story so far:- 6th October: I made the switch to Npower using the cheap energy club.
- 24th October: Contacted the Npower representative on this forum by email as I had heard nothing from them. Somebody signing as a "Senior Advisor from the Executive Complaints Team" replied promptly saying that they knew about my application and even quoted a "Customer Account Number". But, the Senior Adviser lied to me by saying that Npower had sent a letter to my address which it has never arrived.
- 31st October: received unsolicited email from the Cheap Energy Club saying "Not to worry, your switch to Npower is still in progress and it should be in contact soon".
- 10th November: Sent new email to the Npower representatives on this forum (after they publicly offered to help me). But they have not even bothered to reply.
- 17th November - No news from Npower in 6 long weeks! to top it all I have even been lied to by one of its Senior (ignorant) Advisors.

I've had much the same experience and came on here to see if there was any light at the end of the tunnel. Against my better justment (after reading bad reviews) I switched to NPower via the cheap energy club, my switch actually started back in September. They've finally taken a payment but only half of the one quoted on the letter they sent me and all the time i'm conscious that i'm using gas and electric and i'm eventually going to owe a lot of money. It's just ridiculous. I've switched both and they've told me they're providing both and yet they've only so far charged me on the electricity.
They're a bunch of muppets. The only time i've had a supplier that's been any good was when I was with Eon and as soon as i'm able i'm hoping to go back to them.
God knows when i'm going to get a proper bill for what i've used [sigh]I used the Cheap Energy Club to switch to Npower. The story so far:- 6th October: I made the switch to Npower using the cheap energy club.

I used CEC to switch to Npower on the 13 October 2013 I have heard nothing from npower only an Email to confirm my Email address. After ringing Npower customer service they told me the account has not been set up properly and I will need to speak to a supervisor. I was left on hold for over twenty minutes without a reply so I gave up. I'm just wondering if this is ever going to happen and should I look else where for a different supplier.0

Hi - can I have some help please. Today as a result of Scott Power email re the Online Jan Fixed Tariff coming to an end I joined the Cheap Energy Club. When I put in all my figures it came back Congratulation you are on the cheapest tariff. Although I know that I am on the cheapest tariff at the moment, I won't be once the tariff ends and it reverts to standard prices. Does the Cheap Energy Club not factor in the additional costs I will pay once my current deal ends?
As I was unsure whether or not I was looking at this illogically I tried the same figures on Uswitch and it came back that my current charges will rise by about £250 once my current tariff ends and that it would be better to switch.
Do you think that the reason the Cheap Energy Club is not giving the same result is because my current tariff does not run out until end Dec. I would welcome your feedback please as I am a little bit lost as to what to do now. Thanks
I am not used to the forum so this query is posted elsewhere as well - apologies if it is annoying0 -

Sorry you've not heard back - we've been innundated with emails and are working hard to get them all responded too. In terms of the gas and elec switch, we don't have any control over whether the supplier turns down your application and sometimes annoyingly they will do for only one fuel.
Regarding the cashback we'll take a look and drop you a line.
Thanks
Archna
Presumably the supplier has to advise before the statutory cooling off period ends which fuel(s) they have accepted an application for, and if they only accept one fuel and you don't like it, you can call the whole thing off.0 -
