    Hey guys

Just joined the club but I cannot select my current tariff.

I am currently with npower on GoFix6 (well I was until recently - not sure what is it now and their systems are down) but the earliest option is GoFix10.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do / select etc?

    Cheers

    No idea. Absolutely no idea.

I could guess, but why don't you just post the answer?

If you were interested in switching supplier then surely you would have contacted the supplier by now if you haven't heard anything, rather than going to the trouble of registering an account on MSE to post such a question where no one but the supplier could answer.
How could anyone here know the answer to your query? No one knows who you are! ;)

So I look forward to the answer if you decide to post it.

Or perhaps there was another reason you registered a brand new account on MSE ...

Surely the person was asking for help?

Just tried out both the Cheap Energy Club AND Energy Helpline to change my OAP mum's gas and electric from British Gas Standard, and Swalec Standard. Got 2 different replies:
These are the cheapest Variable and Fixed results for both:

    Cheap Energy Club:
V: Scottish Power, Online Energy Saver 21, Variable. Will save £19yr.
F: Scottish Power, Online Fixed Price Energy August 2014 | Fixed till 31 Jul 2014 - will cost us MORE £7yr!

    Energy Helpline:
V: Ebicao, EquiDual. Will save £4yr
F: Swalec 2yr Capped Price Plan 2. Will cost us MORE £44yr!

    Moneysupermarket:
V: Scottish Power, Online Energy Saver 21, Variable. Will save £19yr.
F: Scottish Power, Online Fixed Price Energy August 2014 | Fixed till 31 Jul 2014 - will cost us MORE £7yr!

How can a standard deal on both Gas and Elec be a saving?!

Just out of interest, I also did edf calculation and they said its a good deal and switching to them will cost about £50 yr more.

Any ideas how to save her any money on the utilities as she is only getting her state pension.

If you'd like someone to take a look for you please provide the following information

    1. The anticipated annual consumption figures in kWh
    2. The supply region (or first part of the postcode)

Although I got an email (a couple of days after) telling me to ignore the clubs earlier email.........I would have thought there might have been some type of apology/explanation on here........especially for those who acted on the mis-advice in that email.......

Conspicuous by their absence.....I think is the saying.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

  • Great idea but I'm with Southern Electric, my bills simply state Economy 7 and that's not listed. What do I do?

    Mortgage-free Glee! Debt-free and Proud!
    I signed up today.

We use electricity and oil - no gas where we live. We have a big house and the cooking is electric too - our annual usage for electricity is in the region of 7500kwh a year

Put in the details and it came back with Spark Advance and a saving of £148 a year (worth paying back the £50 we got for switching plans with SSE).....went to the Spark Energy website and put in the same details - annual usage in kwh and it came back with a tariff that is £100 more expensive than our current supplier, not including the discount we get for paying by direct debit. The daily charge and cost per kwh were both more expensive than we currently pay.

Tried moneysupermarket....same result (I guess the cheap energy club use the same information).

    Uswitch....no Spark Advance on there

After a bit of digging it appears Spark Advance is for dual fuel users only......

I'm only pleased that I decided to try and find out a bit more about the offering from the cheap energy club.

Really just wanted to say be aware that all the offers may not be as good as they seem ....but I guess most of you will be aware anyway.
