I now need a new SIM only deal for mother
This time we don't need any data tho
We only need about 250 texts and 250 minutes
Any suggestions?0 -
TalkMobile offer 300 mins and 3000 texts (12 month) for £8/month
or 250 mins and 5000 texts with a free phone (24 month) for £7.50/month
Some quidco cashback available on both (£8 on the £8 deal or £25 on the £7.50 one). Free phone may be worth a few extra ££s too.0 -
You are unlikely to find any straightforward deal cheaper than £7.50 (Tesco) that you know.
For cheaper options check cashback and Ovivo.
With the latter you will be getting 250+250 for free after 6x£10 monthly topups. During the first 6 month use the initial £15 balance and topups to buy extra bundles on the top of free 150+150, then 200+200.
Total cost £75.

Utility Warehouse offer 300 mins and truly u/l texts (provided you don't text to 100 different mobile numbers each month) for £7.50/mth but the sticking point here is the £1.50/mth club fee that takes it to £9/mth. But in addition to giving 50 extra mins a month they use imo a far better/more reliable network (EE as opposed to o2) and like Tesco allow you to cap the usage for free. Both Tesco and UW are 30 day commitments only. Swings and roundabouts, I guess.0

It's still possible to get the bundle you're looking for a lot less on a £10 a month tariff if you go for a cashback deal.0

Great if the cash back is actually paid as 'promised' and you are happy to accept a longer term commitment than 30 days. Like i said, swings and roundabouts.0 -
Yeah I'm not factoring in cashback at all
I dont wanna pay for things she's not going to use, so 250 texts and mins is totally enough
She only uses about 150 texts at the moment and on average about 50 mins, but there's months when she's been to about 200 mins0 -
Ovivo is your best shot then. Extra 50 minutes at 8p/min cost just £4 even without buying any extra bundles. After 3x£10 you start getting 200+200 for free.0

I understand that Ovivo have just increase to 150mins, 150 texts, 400mb for one off payment of £15. It does sound like Ovivo will be the cheapest if you look at the ongoing costs over say a 12 month period.0

So, with Ovivo..
I buy the SIM card for £15, which in turn gives me £15 credit..
After the £15 credit has been used up, I would still get 150 mins and texts even if I didnt top up any further?0
