I really do need to get serious about losing weight. I honestly do not think there's any way for me to even get pregnant at the weight I'm at right now. :(

I'm going to be using sparkpeople.com as a basis (they were the only thing I was able to do and stick with way back when I first started trying to lose weight, but I fell away from it).

I would like to ask everyone here to keep me on track with it. Just ask how I'm doing that day as far as eating and exercising goes, what I can learn from the day, and if I start giving excuses, please kick my bum!

I'm going to be extremely open about what I weigh on here (this is the only place I really feel safe doing so). I currently weigh 129.6kg (285.12lbs) and I am 5ft 3in, which makes my BMI a hefty 50.5. :( I need to weigh 60kg (132lbs) to reach a 'healthy' weight, and 73kg (160lbs) to be out of the obese category.

I'll be celebrating each 10 pounds lost, so I'm all ears for really cheap but really good rewards that I can give myself that aren't food! :)

I figure that if I'm extremely open and talk about things here, I will stick with it better. I know there will be slip ups, but that's part of being human. Nothing says that I can't hop right back on it if I slip up! :)

Sorry for rambling, but I needed to get that out and put that down 'on paper' so to speak.

  • Congrats Sophiasmum! Wow what a rush of BFP that's what I like to hear! Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months.

Welcome back to Goppers and Lara, hopefully your days with us will be short and sweet.

Hugs for cd1 TTC. Enjoy a glass of vino/chocolate/cheese what ever your vice!

Lilmisup - hopefully bad things = BFP!

Mrs Tm - good luck with the weight loss, its hard isn't it, I gave up smoking in March and although that's great, I have put weight on and I was doing slimming world before and had lost 1.5 stone! Now weigh more than when I started but 1 day at a time will get us through! Thanks for doing the lists as always, it is very much appreciated.

Please can I be updated to 4DPO.

Not 100% sure but my last 2 cycles have been 50+ and I had a positive opk on Friday and Saturday and negative on Monday so fingers crossed!

Hugs to anyone who needs them.

Mrs T M I found using the my fitness pal app really helpful as it makes you be totally homest about everything you eat and drink but lets you put in exercise to make up for over indulging!
As for treats, what do you like? How about cheap books for the kindle? Audiobooks or music? Poundland, my favourite shopping the whole wide world?!
  • Hello all - very excited about all the BFPs :)

I'm pretty sure I'm out this month, my usual (pre-pregnancy) ovulation symptoms didn't really show this month (although I had different ones, which was odd) so I'm expecting to be trying again this time next month. I really should have used OPKs so I knew one way or another.

However, I now have a heightened sense of smell (which is what happened last month) - frustrating as it was a pregnancy symptom for me and always makes me hoping that maybe we've been lucky.

Bah. I'm going to see the acupuncturist tomorrow and will see what she says.

Good luck mrs_t_m on your weight loss x

I'm just plodding along, no symptoms and still waiting to test. Going to test tomorrow if af hasn't appeared... Feeling really positive and good today... I only hope for good news tomorrow.

Anyway. That's all from me :o
