  • Welcome S0237276 - hope your stay is short but don't put to much pressure on the first few months, if you've just stopped taking he pilll your cycles may be a bit all over the place.

Hugs CC for the CD1, I had my fingers crossed for you.
  • Hi, I'd like to join please. After around 8 years of trying, I had a little boy 19 months ago and we decided to try again as I'm 37 and not getting any younger. I've not been tracking my cycle, but I had my period about a week ago and that clear sticky last night, I've forgotten the name of, BD last night after we decided, I'm expecting it to take a good while but fingers always crossed xxx

  • Another newbie here....

Had my mirena coil removed on Monday, was terrified I'd be laughed out of the room when she asked why and I said I'd be very happy if I got pregnant. Reason being I'm 46 and have T1 diabetes.

Actually the nurse was lovely and optimistic that it's possible, though I know the odds of ending up with a baby are pretty low.

All through my 25 year marriage I never had a single maternal feeling, never thought I'd want kids. But that marriage ended last year, and earlier this year I met the most wonderful man, my soul mate, and suddenly I understood what that longing was all about. He would love a baby too and after a lot of agonising on my part we decided to try, as I felt I would regret not trying. I already regret not having my coil removed in June when the decision was first made as every month seems critical now.

I was regular as clockwork until last year when the coil was fitted, have had irregular light bleeds on the coil. For the first time ever I'm impatient for AF to visit so we can get going! Should be within the next few days, fingers and everything else crossed.
  • Wow - more newbies :j Welcome Carmilla & WillowCat, hope you aren't here too long (in the nicest possible way of course).

Good luck with your journeys and try not to stress - easier said than done.

For the lucky few, it can happen quickly but for some it can take months or even years.

Currently we're at 10 months of trying so try to be patient!

    Good luck

Carmilla, welcome! Would you like to be added to our lists? If so, do you know your CD (cycle day)?

WillowCat, welcome to you as well! Do you mind if I add you to the lists as well? Since you're waiting on AF, I can put you at the top and say you're 'Awaiting AF' if you'd like. :)

I love seeing new people here, and I really do wish you the best of luck. My DH and I just passed the 1 year mark of trying, but the GP won't help because I'm overweight (need to lose over 100 pounds to reach the 'overweight' category :() so I'm working on that.

  • Welcome newbies :)
  • Welcome newibies.
  • :hello::hello::hello:As it seems to be the day for newbies I think Ill say hi if thats ok.

Im very new to this! I took my last pill 3 weeks ago and my last period started 13 days ago. We have decided that for the first few months we are going for a ntnp approach as I think its going to take my body a while to get back to normal (Ive been on the pill solidly for over 12 years and not sure how normal I actually was before I went on it so am worried it will take a while), so by going for a ntnp I am hoping not to be putting so much pressure on myself to start with, but Im hoping come December time things may be a bit more regular and I will get a hang of monitoring ovulation etc.
