You know what, I don't even know what it's supposed to do. Someone (maybe TeamLowe) got her BFP the month she started taking it, so a few of us rushed straight to Amazon and bought it immediately just in case it helped.

    The things we do :o

    Shameful isn't it?!

Im so guilty of trying anything in the hope of a BFP.

Basically its ment to help pcos ladies with ov and metabolazing (sp) fat in simular ways to metformin.TL was taking it and got her BFP so I jumped at the chance to try it.

Ha ha! I was wondering why "everyone" was taking it.
Not going to try and mess with my cycles at the mo - unless anybody knows of some 'miracle' thing I can take to regulate them!!!

Just delurking to say it wasn't my first cycle of taking it, it was my third that I got my bfp but it had shortened my cycle from the first cycle of taking it from 50-60 days to 35 days exactly.

It's D-chiro-inositol that the research has been done on but the inositol is a polymer (? if that sounds right?) and was a heck of a lot cheaper so i thought i'd try that first and it did the trick :)

It's a B12 complex which is important for liver function and helps with insulin resistance in PCOS ladies (what makes PCOS ladies insulin resistant is that the hormone balance affects liver function, so instead of liver absorbing insulin and sorting it out, it doesn't do it well so the insulin goes back into your system)

In double-blind studies, women with PCOS who received DCI experienced the following statistically significant benefits when compared with a control group: lowered free and total testosterone, lowered blood pressure, increased insulin sensitivity and a corresponding improvement in glucose disposal, and increased frequency of ovulation

I'm taking inositol and metformin but nothing happening so far. I did read that inositol was great for social anxiety but I still feel like slapping most people I meet :o

Tea maybe you're just surrounded by stupid people, there's no pill you can take for that! lol

Mrs TM I heard on Radio 4 a few weeks ago about the proposed charge for people who are 'not ordinarily resident', which i don't believe would be you anyway but not sure what the test is, and the charge wouldn't be for emergency medicine and also would not be the whole of your bill, but a certain amount each year, I believe it was something like £200

Slinky_selina- I am surprised you had a scan where people were sat with their bumps. Surely they have another Ultrasound unit in the hospital ultrasound is used all over the body for investigation. :( I am sorry you had to go through that.

Tea lover - I am loving your optimism. I hope we get that many BFP's:j

Picklekin- I chuckled imaging you spinning in your chair. Lol.

I was able to drink a cup of tea today which I haven't been able to do whilst, well you know. I am going to try and keep away from tea if I can, I survived 8 weeks so I am sure it can only do me good with the water I was drinking. Really surprised me when I was in the recovery ward with all sorts of patients the amount drinking coke and other fizzy drinks - and going out to smoke! No wonder their blood pressure was high and oxygen saturation was low. Guess each to their own.

Home and on the sofa - googling away. Oh and watching last nights DIY SOS. I knew this was a bad bad idea when I saw last night people had put on the 'book of all faces' that it was an emotional one. But hey, I am enjoying it.

Hi samtoby, hope you are staying strong - still thinking of you. I agree with your comments to Slinky_selina about a different scanning area but it was the same for me too.

Recently had to have a couple of scans - one on feet (strange I know) but also internal scans to check ovaries / for PCOS and I too had to sit in the same waiting area with their ladies with the lovely bumps - so difficult to not get too emotional over it.

Also, agree with you about DIY SOS - gosh that had me sobbing - what a gorgeous family and the Dad had such a really lovely way with words - so sad to know he's deteriorating but they built them a gorgeous home so I hope they can cherish every moment they have together.

Got a bit of an all over body ache today after boot camp last night - who's stupid idea was it to try it out when it was 32 degrees and sunny - oh, that'll be me! I resembled a beetroot at the end of it but think we both did fairly well for a first attempt. Lovely group of people, nobody was super competitive, just felt comfortable in their presence so we're going again next week - aaaaarrrrgh!

    Happy Friday all
    Love Gelly
