Hi all,
Thanks for the lists MrsTM. Don't worry about all the NHS now a days
There is lot of talk with no actions anyways.
Hope you are feeling better samtoby.
Afm - 14 DPO and started spotting I think I am out of race this month bring it on next cycle.
As we have been NTNP from more than one year. I asked the GP for referral and got an appointment on 13 th of this month. Don't know what will happen.Saving goal for BTL mortgage - 28600 / 60000 ( July 2021) , 37600/60000 (December 2021) , 39300 / 60000 (august 2022) , 41000/60000 ( January 2023)0 -
The gingerbread smoothie is only 312 calories (perfect for breakfast!) if you use semi-skimmed milk. I used goats milk because that's what we have at the moment.
Here's the recipe if anyone wants to try it. Near the end it gets a bit strong in the ginger department, so you may want to adjust that to your tastes. The original recipe calls for almond milk, but I'm allergic to almonds! I think any milk or milk like beverage would work in this. This smoothie is nice and cool and refreshing, but still warm and comforting. Plus it's gluten free!
1 cup = 8 fluid oz = 237 ml
1 frozen banana, sliced
1 cup milk
1 tbsp molasses or black treacle
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp ground flax seed
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
pinch ground nutmeg
pinch ground cloves
dash of allspice
1 small handful of ice (I used coconut water ice cubes, but plain work too!)0 -
I'm having a lazy day today I doubt i'll even leave the house! I will however (hopefully) be buying my tickets for the london film and comic con today as we're not going on holiday this year we're going there instead! I'm super excited as I'm such a giant geek I can't wait to meet Kevin Sorbo *swoon* and we're hoping to meet up with some friends we haven't seen for a while too. Yay its nice to have something to look forward to.
hugs to all x
Bwahahaha! At least now I know I'm not the only fan of Kevin Sorbo on here! :rotfl:0 -
That recipe sounds yummy MrsTM.
I would like to taste all your yummy dishes and drinks one daySaving goal for BTL mortgage - 28600 / 60000 ( July 2021) , 37600/60000 (December 2021) , 39300 / 60000 (august 2022) , 41000/60000 ( January 2023)0 -
If anyone is interested, I'm on day 5 of a '30 day smoothie challenge' although it will probably turn into 'I want a smoothie every day for the rest of my life!'
Here are the recipes I've tried so far and my comments on them:
Ginger Berry Oat Smoothie (not good for coeliacs unless you can have gluten free oats)
1/4 cup oatmeal (softened in 1/2 cup water, milk, or other beverage)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup plain yoghurt
1/2 cup ice
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/4-1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger (do not use dried ginger!!!)
If you don't have brown sugar (or don't want to pay the crazy prices for it), make your own. Normal brown sugar: 1 cup granulated sugar + 1 tbsp molasses or black treacle. Dark brown sugar: 1 cup granulated sugar + 2 tbsp molasses or black treacle. It will look like it won't mix, just keep stirring and it will!
Purple Monstrosity Smoothie (or popsicles!) I did half of this recipe and it filled 6 places in the muffin tin for popsicles/ice lollies. These are really good as ice lollies. Bit too much banana flavour for me when in smoothie form. 2 frozen bananas, sliced
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup orange juice
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cherry Blast
17 cherries, pitted
6 pineapple rings
The recipe calls for fresh cherries, and all I had were frozen, so I added enough pineapple juice to make it work in the blender. Also, all of the canned pineapple I have (home canned) is in chunks, so I had to estimate the pineapple amount. This was really really good. Both the cherry and pineapple taste comes through and the flavours blend quite nicely.
Cherry Vanilla Smoothie
1 frozen banana, sliced
1/2 cup frozen sweet cherries, pitted*
3/4 cup plain yoghurt
1/2 tbsp flax seed
If you freeze your own cherries, an easy way to pit them is to make an x on the bottom (opposite the stem) with a knife down to the pit. Then, poke a chopstick through where the stem was while you're holding the cherry. The pit pops right out and you barely lose any juice or cherry flesh!
Pineapple orange julius
2 cups orange juice
1 cup milk
1/2 cup frozen diced pineapple
1 cup ice (I used coconut water ice cubes)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 cup powdered (icing) sugar - or to taste
This full recipe makes about 50 fl oz! We made a half recipe and it was plenty for the two of us, so unless you REALLY want a big smoothie or have more people, cut it in half!
Vietnamese Coffee Smoothie
1/2 cup strong coffee (can be decaff)
1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 cup ice cubes (I used 1/2 cup of coffee ice cubes and 1 cup plain ice cubes)
Lemon poppyseed muffin smoothie
This one is awesome!
2 tsp poppy seed (don't do like I did and put in 2 tbsp instead!)
zest and juice of 1/2 of a lemon
1 cup plain yoghurt
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup ice
Cinnamon bun
This one is good, but needs more cinnamon in my opinion.
1 frozen banana, sliced
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp honey0 -
Hello Ladies
CD2 here for me which is no surprise as we only dtd once at the right time as I was away without my hubbie (was still secretly thinking I may have a chance though as it only takes one go etc etc but clearly not!?) onwards with the next cycle....
Been missing for a while as we've been trying not to think about ttc for a while. We've been trying for over 6 months now and nothing. I'm going to the doctors next week about something not ttc related but will mention it to them and see what they say!
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine!
