Wow - what a bumper July, let's hope August is even better.

Massive hugs to Samtoby - nothing we can say can take away the pain but we are all thinking about you and your OH and are here should you need a shoulder - much love x

CD1 for me - on day 21, bonkers! I'm confused about my body, it's just not behaving.

Last cycle was 15 days, this month it's 21 but I just want to get back to "normal" of around 28 ish - if it does it again next month, I'll pop to see the GP as there's no reason for this.

Currently 9 months of trying and not even a sniff of a BFP.

Off to Boot Camp tonight for the first time - gosh we're going to hurt like anything tomorrow, wish us luck!

    Love Gelly

Sorry about ranting about this here, especially since it isn't particularly ttc related, but I needed to get this out. If you'd like to skip it, feel free to do so.

Just read something on another forum (and did two UKBA surveys on it) that has me worried.

Most of you probably know that I am an American, here on a spousal visa and that I plan on applying for my indefinite leave to remain next April and applying for citizenship the summer of 2015.

It looks like immigration are trying to force landlords into making random checks on their tenants immigration status and fining them if they don't. Also, they are planning on restricting access of the NHS to citizens only and those that have paid a fairly large fee up front.

I'm here completely legally, and it has me scared! My landlord shouldn't be allowed to come to my home unannounced and make me show them my immigration documents and they shouldn't be able to keep a copy! I don't want anyone having a copy of my passport, visa, ni number, etc who is not my employer or my bank. Also, what happens to those of us on legitimate visas who, say, get pregnant before our IRL is granted or citizenship is granted? We can't usually afford to pay for health services on top of our NI contributions from working because we've already handed the UKBA so much money to get here legally (and continue to hand them more money to be able to stay here with our partners).

My biggest worry about these legislation proposals are that it will open the door wide to discrimination and it will make the NHS more like America's health care system (which is in shambles in my opinion). I know what it's like to be terrified of being in an accident or getting sick because you can't afford to visit the doctors office. I don't want anyone having that fear or needing to suffer just because of lack of money.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming of ttc related stuffs.

Mrs TM - I didn't want to read and run.. I think a lot of stuff you mention is speculative. There was something on the news about should the NHS be free but nothing has happened to say it isn't - this was to stop health tourists who come for a couple of months and then return home, so not at all like you. I am not too sure about any of the other points, in general landlords must give tenants of them visiting from my understanding, so you shouldn't have anyone turning up on your doorstep. Can you talk to the citizens advice bureau perhaps as they might have better information?

Please do not panic over what you have read, a lot of stuff online is nonsense xx

Hi everyone thanks for your kind wishes you don't know how much that means to me at the moment.

Operation went fine apart from when they gave me anti sicknesa drugs which have caused my blood pressure to sit at 80/40 region so overnight stay but honestly I think the rest will do me good.

So get home get on the vitamins and wait for CD1 to know where I am. Emotionally I am not sure where CD1 is.

Thanks again, hugs to those on the which, good luck to those ovulating and on the 2ww. Xx

    Xx

    Hello lovelies

Sorry I've been AWOL.....had a practical exam today that I was absolutely bricking it over and have been in a huff during this 2ww because we missed our fertile days as I was working away. Relieved today is over with....even though it was horrendous :o Just waiting for AF now.

Samtoby - I am so sorry to hear your news. Nothing I can say will make you feel any better so I'll leave it at "I'm thinking of you" and will send you a big hug xxxx

MrsTM - thanks so much for continuing to do such a great job on the lists! You are a star! :) please can I predict 9 BFPs this month please! Surely this has to be a side effect to the sunny weather right?!

I don't know anything about immigration rules or anything so not sure i can say anything helpful. I'm sure it isn't anywhere near as bad as the press are making out though so please try not to worry! xxx

Gelly - wow! Bootcamp! I am impressed! Hope you don't hurt too much after! I'm the same, been trying since October last year and also no hint of a BFP :o trying to keep positive as i know it isn't really that long in comparison to some of the other ladies but it is really hard. xxx

Disney & Loveactually - fingers crossed you both get your BFPs in a couple of days!! X

    Goodvibes - big hugs! xxx

Chelseablue - don't you just love men! :rotfl:

Angeltreats - how sweet is your other half! What a lovely present bless him!

Lollypops - hope you are feeling ok after your chemical. Big hugs xxx

My hubby is taking tomorrow off work to get his SA done finally. Yay :T I didn't even need to tell him too. I think he just saw how upset I was last CD1 and also when we missed the egg this month so he seems a little more on board.

I have been getting a little annoyed with him though because he keeps saying we'll start taking it more seriously and trying harder but honestly I feel like we have been trying super hard since January!! I have made sure that we both take prenatal vits, I track OV and make sure we BD as much as possible when I'm fertile yet still nothing. Not sure what else he thinks we can do!!! Just because he hasn't "known" that I've been been closely monitoring our dates! Very frustrated!

Anyway, only one more day to the weekend! Yay! X

Unfortunately, it was straight from the UKBA website, and they've actually tried to keep it hushed up. I don't like health tourists, and at my gp's office, if you're not registered, they ask if you have a visa or are a citizen. If so, no charge. If not, it's a £40 charge unless it's an emergency. When my mom was here last year, she ended up cutting her finger by accident and getting a nasty infection. She paid the £40 charge for a nurse to look at her finger and go, yep, that needs antibiotics. Here's a prescription. Luckily, she is over 60, so her prescription was free. I also absolutely love the fact that I believe most, if not all prescriptions have a cap on how much pharmacies can charge. In the US there is no cap, which means many medications have a charge of $10-40 per tablet! And that's on top of paying for insurance and paying a co-pay to see the doctor or nurse (or paying out of pocket).

I know I shouldn't worry about things like this, but I'm finally starting to get the help I need with depression and being overweight. I don't want that ripped away from me if at all possible. The good news is that I came in under the old rules, so I only have to wait out 2 years before I can apply for IRL, instead of the 5 that people now must wait who come in on spouse visas.

I think that the irrational fear of the UKBA for me stems from being locked up like a prisoner for hours on end when I first attempted a trip over here, just because they didn't believe I still lived with my mother. That terrified me and I still have nightmares about it and would never wish it on anyone.

  • Hope you are not getting yourself too worried Mrs TM, its easy to take for granted that NHS will be free and available when you need it but that may not always be the case...

Lovely GP called today and said HCG back down on Monday which I knew as am sure I'm now 0dpo.

Given it a good shot last night and night before and will jump hubby again tonight lol!

Sorry I can't reply/comment to everyone, harder on iPad.

Am off to sing to my eggs xxxx
