Thank you Codemonkey. Other halfs on his stag tomorrow so glad it's not too early or late.

So basically a positive opk means you should try BD that day or in the next 36 hours?

This thread is lovely, everyone is so kind.

You need to BD before you ovulate ideally. Sperm needs to be waiting around for the egg when it's released. So a + OPK this morning....BD today and tomorrow. In future, maybe BD 'yesterday' too :)

Sperm can live in inside you for 'upto' 5 days so the more you BD before and during ovulation, the better chance you have of having some healthy sperm trying to penetrate the egg :)
    Good luck!

Thank you. So would Monday have been too soon? I don't know when I'm going to ovulate yet so will hopefully get easier as time goes on.

He leaves early for his stag tomorrow so may BD tonight....he's feeling so lucky this month lol.

Code - yeay for potential CD1 (this one and only time!)

Have just been having a moan about TTC generally (man is it more complicated than I thought it was going to be!) to one of my best friends via email who is also TTC and she gave me this advice which I thought I would share with you all:

"If it helps, don't read the NHS website ("just have loads of s8x - it'll be fine!"!!!), the really sh8t scary medical books ("statistically speaking, your fertility halves at 34* *statistics based on 17th century birth rates among the farming community in rural France") or the crazy Chinese medicine ones either (after lots of research, I am still not sure if I have an issue with my Qi or if I am a Cold or Damp type!!!). Read a book called "The impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant" - you can download it on Kindle via Amazon for a fiver - very normal, very entertaining and very pragmatic!!"

    Tootles off to Amazon.....

Good news! Its been a day or since your visit to the GP isn't it? Oddly I ended my never-ending cycle 2 days after visiting the specialist... maybe there is something to the 'stress' argument.

By the way, I was meaning to say to you, when I had the long cycle I also found I was putting on weight, especially around my tummy. The weight was stablish (bearing in mind I was doing 5:2 at the time, it should have been dropping) but my waist was definitely thickening.

I'd love to say that has stopped - but I'm not sure! But, at least I do seem to be losing weight SLIGHTLY easier since my hormones have returned to me.

Morning everyone, and a special hello to the new people.

Sorry that I haven't been posting much other than the lists. I've had a few down days and the past two days I've done nothing but sleep. I feel better today, which is nice, so as long as I can keep myself cool, I might actually get the 3 days of washing up finished.

Still nothing to report here, except that my temps are still being silly. Stupid heat.

Hi Mrs T M! Thank you for doing the lists

Sorry about the down days, but glad your feeling a little better today. I'm having rubbish temps too. Do you think it's because of the heat? I definitely ovulated 2 or 3 days ago but temp dropped today again and totally confused

    No worries!

I'm guessing it's due to the absurd heat. It gets hotter where I'm from, but there we have air conditioners and central air!

I really do not do well in the heat! Walked the 1 mile round trip to Aldi (and co-op and tesco) and when I came in I was dripping with sweat. My hair is still soaked! I also seem to have hurt my hip and knee (same side) while I was out looking for those gorilla things around Norwich last Tuesday. I've been taking it easy since then until today, and now I can barely bend my hip without gasping in pain. Guess ibuprofen and no bake cookies are on the docket for now.
