I haven't read the threads but wanted to send my love & best wishes for getting pregnant to those posting here.

I'm almost 42 and it never happened for me in my first marriage - I knew I had PCOS, I had several suspected very early miscarriages (written off by me as extra heavy periods) and even had 1 round of IVF via NHS funding in 2002. It was later found I had Hughe's syndrome (antiphospholipid) which probably contributed. We eventually separated in 2005 and divorced, childless.

I met a lovely man that same year - there was no chance of me getting pregnant as I also had to have 3 x spinal surgeries in 3 years and my DH has had a vasectomy.

I had to make the choice between the reduced chance of getting pregnant in my mid-30's (and medical issues) with someone else than the man I loved very much or knowing I would never have biological children with him.

Reader - I married him! Last year, in front of a big collection of our family & friends & with our dear 3 nieces as bridesmaids.

He has two grown-up sons from his first (arranged) marriage living abroad and they even call me 'mom' often, and there is the chance we may adopt from India in the future - he is from a nearby country originally - as there are no huge cultural hurdles for us to overcome. They allow international adoption for children under 3 years as long as the couple's combined age is under 90 with neither partner over 50 (as I understand it but I might be wrong)

I'm even looking forward to being a kind-of granny in a few years time. maybe.

I just wanted to post here to give hope that there is life after the awful painful experience of infertility - it might not be the life you imagined, but happiness does happen and even parenthood might happen in different ways.

I still have very sad, grieving days for the life that 'might have been', I won't pretend otherwise. But the good times far outweigh the bad, now time has passed.

I wish you all luck and happy families!

edited to add: a big SBDTA

Thank you for sharing your story - really hope you do manage to
adopt as you sound like you would be a great Mum x

Hi all sorry not been doing so well with my abscess :( back to the dentist today for two lots of anti b's & i have been referred to the hospital for an Apicetomy surgery :(
I had that surgery a couple of years ago now. It was on one of my front teeth and I dreaded it. It was, however, nowhere near a bad as my brain/fears made it out to be. You'll be fine, I'm sure :)

    Morning all

Glad it's Saturday! Nothing much planned for this weekend - really could do with house work being done as with it being hot it has been left and resembles a Mess!

Hope you all have a good one x

    Morning back!

Seems a bit breezier here - think the temp has dropped a little but still hot :) So still got an excuse to do no housework!

Morning ladies. Another beautiful but breezy day. CD8 for me so will start opk tomorrow.

Have neighbours who think it's acceptable to let older teenagers play scream and shout on a trampoline at 2am. Most days the youngest are on it til almost 11pm.

Parents are there. We live near HA. We are in owned home so can't escape by moving.

It's times like this it infuriates me that people like that have kids and we are all struggling.

Rant over. I'm so tired of being woken up constantly x
