Trying for a Baby Part 9

Ouch! Sounds awful mrs t- m xxJoined SW on 1.5.14 - Weight 11 stone 11
:A- 8/13 :A - 4/140 -
I used to have hip trouble a few years ago, when I was at my highest weight (296 pounds or 21 stone 2 pounds). I'm down to 261 pounds (18 stone, 9 pounds) now though, so hopefully it isn't from the weight. I walked about 10 miles Tuesday though. Good exercise, but it was too much it seems.
Also, typing out my weight like that has made me realise that I've lost 35 pounds total, 32 since last Christmas when my weight decided to creep back on! Went gluten free last Saturday and I've dropped 9 pounds since, so that's helped.0 -
No worries!
I'm guessing it's due to the absurd heat. It gets hotter where I'm from, but there we have air conditioners and central air!
I really do not do well in the heat! Walked the 1 mile round trip to Aldi (and co-op and tesco) and when I came in I was dripping with sweat. My hair is still soaked! I also seem to have hurt my hip and knee (same side) while I was out looking for those gorilla things around Norwich last Tuesday. I've been taking it easy since then until today, and now I can barely bend my hip without gasping in pain. Guess ibuprofen and no bake cookies are on the docket for now.
I'm a norwich person too :j well live just outside. It's been soooo hot here today.0 -

Not sure if you know this Mrs T_M but ibuprofen isn't great while ttc because it can mess with your cycles.
I don't do well in the heat either. Something to do with being Scottish so only used to rain. I have really fair skin so can't stay in the sun for long at all and my office has no air conditioning so I'm sweating like Jimmy Saville in a hospital.
Also what are no bake cookies? I love baking but the dog follows me about while I cook, getting under my feet, blocking cupboards with his head or bum and sticking his head in the oven so anything that doesn't have to be baked in this weather is really good.
Still no full flow AF. Not expecting this to be horrendous as its a breakthrough bleed rather than an actual AF iyswim? I guess my body has given up on trying to ov for now.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

Woohoo! I was wondering if anyone near here was on these boards. We are in the NE corner-ish.codemonkey wrote: »Not sure if you know this Mrs T_M but ibuprofen isn't great while ttc because it can mess with your cycles.

Ibuprofen can be troublesome because it's a blood thinner, like aspirin, but not as bad. It causes a higher incidence of spotting or bleeding if you take it, but paracetamol will not help reduce inflammation. Also, if it's just the recommended dose (200 mg) once during the tww, it won't hurt anything, and I'd rather be able to walk right now.
No bakes are essentially chocolate fudge coated oatmeal spooned out onto greaseproof paper and let 'cool' into cookies.
This is the recipe I use, it's from the US, so it's in volumes instead of metric. 1 stick of butter is 113 grams, and 1 cup is 8 fluid oz. I do know that! You can also make a half batch, and you can leave out the peanut butter, but they won't taste 'right.' I had to leave out the peanut butter this time because we are out, and I refuse to pay 30p more for the same amount at aldi vs morrisons!

I haven't read the threads but wanted to send my love & best wishes for getting pregnant to those posting here.
I'm almost 42 and it never happened for me in my first marriage - I knew I had PCOS, I had several suspected very early miscarriages (written off by me as extra heavy periods) and even had 1 round of IVF via NHS funding in 2002. It was later found I had Hughe's syndrome (antiphospholipid) which probably contributed. We eventually separated in 2005 and divorced, childless.
I met a lovely man that same year - there was no chance of me getting pregnant as I also had to have 3 x spinal surgeries in 3 years and my DH has had a vasectomy.
I had to make the choice between the reduced chance of getting pregnant in my mid-30's (and medical issues) with someone else than the man I loved very much or knowing I would never have biological children with him.
Reader - I married him! Last year, in front of a big collection of our family & friends & with our dear 3 nieces as bridesmaids.
He has two grown-up sons from his first (arranged) marriage living abroad and they even call me 'mom' often, and there is the chance we may adopt from India in the future - he is from a nearby country originally - as there are no huge cultural hurdles for us to overcome. They allow international adoption for children under 3 years as long as the couple's combined age is under 90 with neither partner over 50 (as I understand it but I might be wrong)
I'm even looking forward to being a kind-of granny in a few years time. maybe.
I just wanted to post here to give hope that there is life after the awful painful experience of infertility - it might not be the life you imagined, but happiness does happen and even parenthood might happen in different ways.
I still have very sad, grieving days for the life that 'might have been', I won't pretend otherwise. But the good times far outweigh the bad, now time has passed.
I wish you all luck and happy families!
edited to add: a big SBDTA0 -
Looking back on my reply to you code, it sounds like I'm being uppity or a know it all. I promise I didn't mean it like that and I'm sorry if anyone took it like that!
I didn't think you were.
It's not just the blood thinning problem, but NSAIDS like ibuprofen in high doses can cause lutienized unruptured follicle syndrome (LUFS) or trapped egg. It's when your body shows that it O'd (even while charting, raises progesterone level, etc) but the egg never truly released. It's common in women who are on fertility drugs, have endometriosis, or take a lot of NSAIDS. I don't think it's based on a certain number of pills though. It's also thought that NSAIDS thin or "wash away" the lining. I have noticed when I've taken ibuprofen (in desperation when my dodgy wrist, ankle, knee or back has flared up) that it can affect my ovulation. But sometimes it can't be helped. If it's between severe pain and not walking, or the small risk from taking ibuprofen, then ibuprofen wins every time. I think the low dose should be ok for you.

The bleeding from earlier appears to have stopped. Hmmm.
Your cookies sound awesome. I have some peanut butter that we got for the dog but he's not keen so I might have to appropriate that.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
