Becca - Just a thought, why don't you test every day. If the lines start getting lighter then the hcg is obviously leaving your system...but if they start getting darker again.....?

Atleast then you satisfy your urge to poas and should get a more reliable result when/if AF comes. That's what I would do anyway, although you would have to be strong and not obsess over the lines (which I probably would do)

    Good luck :)

I did consider this but I'm fairly mental so would obsess. I quite like living in denial right now :D

    Hope you're ok x

Well the witch showed yesterday but today has almost disappeared. So now am convinced I am back in the game lol. Was due on tomorrow so will buy stick and test on tuesday if the situation stays the same.

Last year I had a bleed which stopped after two days so I thought I wasn't pregnant, had a sneaky suspicion a week later and tested positive. Shame it was ectopic but at least shows there's potential, which is giving me hope.

Becca - good luck for this time round!

Claire16c - thanks for temping explanation to Patronus. I have been too lazy to temp thus far, just used opks, but I definitely will for the next attempt.

picklekin - obviously getting drunk in 2ww isn't ideal, but try not to worry. So many women don't find out they are pregnant straight away and have had a few nights out on the lash without knowing. I think the biggest risk this early on is that the alcohol may make implantation more difficult, but most likely that a one-off won't make an enormous difference.

Having difficulties getting dh to bd this cycle.....At the moment he is lying in bed with a hangover and muttering something about "tonight"! Mind you, my faint positive on a OPK wasn't there yesterday and I was expecting it to darken? Ill test again later and see though I can already tell that if I do get a positive I would be really frustrated if we didn't bd....
I did just tell him that the amount he drunk I would rather he got the alcohol out of his 'system' anyway!
Happy Sunday everyone. Im off to keep myself busy!

Faint positive? Sophiasmum, I apologise if I'm telling you something you already know but an opk is not positive unless the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. It's rubbish when the menfolk aren't being helpful though.

Still no positive opk for me. Only a very faint line test line on the opks that isn't getting darker at all and DH and me are getting a bit frustrated. Why do I get the feeling this is going to be an anovulatory cycle?

I'm okay thanks Becca. I like your idea about living in denial though - hopefully it all pays off. Will be lurking.......

You're right. The line does get darker as you approach ov but it's not considered a positive until they're both the same because there is always some LH in your system, unlike a pregnancy test where a line means a positive even if it's faint. When the test turns positive it's at least 12-36 hours til ov so no point in worrying about non bding men until the test is actually positive because otherwise you're just putting stress on yourself and him and possibly delaying ov. Which is not to say don't bd during this time, because it won't hurt but don't worry if you don't. Does that make any sense?

I have the opposite worry. Because of my DH's medical problem he has to hold it for a couple of days before ov and because my ov can be anywhere from CD15 - 30 he's been holding it for 2 weeks and is getting frustrated. Yesterday we were messing about and he told me not to touch it because it will go off. Poor guy. My opk is a little darker today but still not positive yet.

At a family function and struggling. Babies and pregnant women everywhere, comments about how much my parents 'deserve' to be grandparents. And Cd1 after only 22 days again. Am feeling useless and rubbish today. Argh!

Becca I have everything crossed for you this week. Eek!

TCOD best of luck with your appointment.

Enjoy the last of the weekend everyone.

Did anyone find that their hormones were chaos after they came off their contreception? I thought after 3 months I might be ok but i'm all over the place. Not sure how long I or DH will be able to cope with the emotions. Although I don't know if there is a solution to regulate them and still TTC?

you'd want to check this out before you try it, to check if it affects ttc but I've always found Evening primrose oil was very good for helping with hormone/emotion swings.

Epo is fine to take between af & ov. You should stop taking it after ov though
