That's the problem I had Claire it often went straight to high

It seems pretty ridiculous I mean the earliest I would expect to ovulate would be cd18/19 so having a high on cd9 .. I mean sperm can not live that long!! And chances are I wont ovulate even at that time anyway because its only happened a couple of times.

Yes I guess there could be a chance of ovulating earlier - my friend has wacky cycles too and out of the blue one cycle she ovulated cd15 and got pregnant.. But still seems very unlikely.

I guess the good thing is that by doing the trial, Im not paying for anything so if it just shows weeks of highs then I know not to bother buying it. But its pretty disappointing!

Claire ...my monitor for the trial went onto high on day 9 too!!
i was wondering if it was because id had to redo the test on d8 (didnt dip for long enough!) and that i'd then got a weaker sample later on in the morning.

But sounds like its happening to everyone!

i even had a mardy at oh this morning cause he was too tired last night, and i was rushing off to work this morning. think i said something along the lines of "we'll never get pg at this rate if you don't want to bd when the monitor says so!!" hmmm, think i need to apologise this morning!

why do we get sooo stressed about it?!

My husband and I have decided to start trying this month, so I bought a load of OPK sticks off Amazon. I'm on day 16 and no clear sign as yet so not sure what to do. My cycle has been a bit messed up since coming off the pill in January, but I feel like this is the right time nonetheless?!

Mrkate is not bothered at all and does not think we should stress out about doing it on specific days at this stage. Sensible but not want I want to hear!!

Edit: I am new! and have NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING RE TTC OR MUCH ELSE FOR THAT MATTER :D

Don't worry MisKate, if you'd read back to a couple of days ago we were discussing how late a lot of us OV even without having really long cycles. It's a myth that every woman has a 28 day cycle, and even if you do it doesn't mean you'll OV on CD14. The pill does strange things and can continue to do so for months. Keep testing and just try to have sex every 2-3 days at this point. :)

Slinky Selina, enjoy having an enthusiastic OH while it lasts! I told my OH on Sunday that I got a Peak and he said, 'Oh God, that means we've got to do it again doesn't it?!' :p

As far as I'm concerned, Kate Garraway can fark off!! Like women aren't under enough pressure. And like everyone said, it needs to target the men just as much as the women. We're still not in a great position to be trying (I'm not in permanent work, we live in a one bedroom flat etc etc) but medical needs means we're trying now. Otherwise we'd have been waiting even longer than we are! Hate how these things feel like they're lecturing rather than advising.

Thriftylass and babymad - my cycles seem to have gone the same - have 2 days of medium flow then very light for a few days. Think I have read somewhere that it does happen as you get into your 30s as hormones settle/change. It's something on my list of questions to ask my gynae consultant in July though as I do worry about it too...

Congratulations on the bfp starshinning! Hope you have a very happy and healthy 9 months.

    Hugs to skaps for cd1.

Birdie85 - can't stand the 'mummy friends' statuses on FB. Especially ones about potty training/poo when I'm eating my tea!

Thanks for the chocolate beetroot muffin recipe blondy24. Planning on doing some baking this weekend so may just give them a go!

Welcome MisKate! Hope your stay is short and sweet.

ttc39 - hope you managed to get a docs appointment and they sort you out soon. Glad your face is feeling a bit better.

Not much going on here really. Posted all the Clearblue stuff back this morning and had a fit of the giggles when the post office women started caressing the parcel with the pee sample in. Looking forward to getting the vouchers through. Going to use Conceive Plus this month too, bought some a few months ago and keep forgetting about it.

Blimey these CBFMs seem more trouble than they're worth!

Ladies I've completely forgotten the name of the supplement that acts like clomid, might give it a go if the FS says what i think they will (lose more weight, fatty!)

did i see a couple of people say they were trying inositol too? it's lengthened the amount of spotting i have to a few days but even then my cycle is still 35 days :j which is only a week away from 'normal' and the length of cycle i had when i got pregnant. 3rd cycle on it and i expect AF any day now :)
Also I've been really struggling with my weight but since 9 march (last appointment) I've lost 2 bmi points, so it's clearly helped with that
    I'm taking 500mg x2 daily
