Thanks T2D, spoke to them yesterday, hard when family live so far away too. Fingers crossed.

sjlou - I have looked at those magazines on the shelf but not picked one up yet! Have been looking online at stuff though which is just as bad! Good luck with testing tomorrow.

I just rang drs to book an appt with the dr they told me specialises in family planning & fertility etc to find out she's now on maternity leave!!!

So they've let me book an appt with another dr who they said has taken over that realm for first week of June, which is ok but I'm a bit worried as she's a lovely young dr who I saw when I was pregnant but I seem to remember her looking at me a bit odd when I said I had a long cycle and so going by lmp would be a few days off for me so I'm just praying she knows what she is talking about! One good thing though is that she's the same size as me so hopefully she won't jump to any conclusions about BMi. Unless of course my test results come back bad anyway in which case we'll have that to discuss... As you can tell I'm thinking really positively about it.

    Hi Everyone

Got my CBFM arriving tomorrow :j It is just the one month research one but hoping it will help...and also hoping I won't need it at all as I'll be preggers using the first test before I start....

Started POAS yesterday with OPKs. It was ridiculous, I was getting all nervous and excited as though it was a HPT. Then I got all disappointed as it was negative and went out and bought a bottle of wine. I was only CD11 so I need to get a grip. Still negative today but it should change in the next few days. Still jumped DH anyway for the h*ll of it :rotfl:

    Joke alert...
Me and my friend went out for a bike ride on a cobbled street and I said to her Do you come this way often? :rotfl:

Hugs to those who need them xx

    Hi to all,

Keep trying to find the time to post but have been reading through as often as possible!

Congrats to those with BFP! Lets hope May is a lucky month for lots of us!

Claire16c - had lots of laughs at that list. Sat here nodding along with most of them!

AFM, as I had some opks lurking in the cupboard, OH agreed to using them up this month so according to them I am now 3 DPO and entering the dreaded 2WW zone, fingers crossed!

Just out of interest, I notice people often mentioning dieting/BMI. I know being overweight CAN affect fertility but do you feel this makes a big difference?
    I have no idea how much I way but at 5f 2in and a size 14-16 I assume I am overweight :o

There are probably a million webpages about weight and fertility. Generally they go by bmi which this page has a report about the differences it can make:

    http://infertility.about.com/od/researchandstudies/a/BMIsubfertile.htm

if you don't know how much you weigh though its a bit tricky! :)

I know people who are underweight and overweight who have all gotten pregnant so it will all depend on the individual too.

159 there's two issues with being overweight, mainly

    1) NHS criteria for IVF 99% of the time (haven't heard of a place that doesnt) says your BMI has to be below 29 and i have heard of other things being restricted to below 35 (ie clomid).

    2) if you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) losing weight is the best treatment- losing just 10% of bodyweight can result in a reduction of symptoms. of course, one of the symptoms is finding it difficult to lose weight/easy to put it on.

if you are overweight and go to the doctors to say you're finding it hard to get pregnant it'll be the GPs go-to answer but that's pretty much true of everything. my sister and best friend were both size 22+ when they got pregnant and both had healthy happy babies x
