Trying for a Baby Part 9

Thanks everyone
I think the rubella thing is that if you are not immune and catch it during pregnancy it can be a big problem so if you can get sorted out before getting pregnant then it's a good idea. But as you say I am sure most people don't do that and are fine. I think most people are immune anyway. Don't want to worry anyone!

Yay, congratulations amyloofoo! Hope you have a very happy and healthy 9 months! Giggling at the image of your mums making dolphin noises! Pleased to read your news too lilymay.
claire16c - glad your doctor's appointment went ok yesterday. Think feeling like you've been listened to is half the battle. Hope the inositol does the trick.
ttc39 - good that the bleeding has stopped. Hate how ttc makes us question everything our bodies do - enough to drive you mad!
alice31 - hugs for af. I'd be tempted to just keep trying even though you're going to be a bridesmaid. No point putting your own life on hold and there's plenty of time for dress alterations if needed. One of my friends was a bridesmaid a few days before she gave birth a few weeks ago and she looked amazing.
daisiegg - asked a nurse about rubella immunity before we started trying and she said they do it as part of antenatal care but not really before. I did see my doctor before ttc but only because of medical history. Might be worth mentioning if you have to go for something else sometime. Loads of advice on the internet, and there's always the lovely ladies here too.
squ1rrel5 - ouch to your poor OH! That sounds extremely painful, hope he's feeling better soon.
Hugs credit crunch, so sorry to read your news. Be kind to yourself xxx
Not much going on here really. One of my old school friends has just announced her pregnancy after 4 years of trying and going through fertility treatment, really happy for her as she'll make an amazing mum. Itching to poas for the Clearblue monitor on Saturday too - sad! Oh, and I'm feeling so broody I could burst!Hold my hand harder

Sorry I have been MIA guys - usually try to post at work but with DH going in for his op next week I am sooo busy at work. Typically, this is the worst time ever for me at work with long term sickness and holidays seriously straining the Team already so I am working long hours to try get my workload into touch before abandoning ship for a while..
CONGRATS to Amy :j:j
Commiserations to all who AF has caught up with and well done with the PMAs
Not much else going on here - using FF and am starting to get myself into a pattern with temping so thats something. Using OPKs but not seeing anything (not that I am expecting to). One of my oldest friends is due to 'pop' any day now and I actually feel very happy for her but I think its because she lives in a different town and though we're in contact daily we haven't seen each other in 5years.. Oh well - onwards and upwards. No 2013 baby for me!xx

Oh god, that hadn't even occurred to me. I won't be having a baby this year either. That is rubbish
Sorry, shouldn't be so miserable when we have such lovely news, well done Amy!! You should also do a digi so we can have a photo of that too, we love digi piccies :rotfl:
Re rubella antibodies, I had that tested as part of the Bupa well woman thing as it's just one of the routine things they look for, but it's never been mentioned otherwise and my GP knows we are TTC.0 -
If you have fertility treatment you're tested for rubella immunity. Most women will have had a vaccination around 13 at school and should be immune. If it worries you, you could talk to your GP about it. Contracting rubella when pregnant isn't something you'd want to do. Offering the MMR after you've delivered your baby seems a little like shutting the door after the horse has bolted but unfortunately it shouldn't be given whilst pregnant as it's one that contains a live virus."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Morning! As Ive written off this month (because of course I was going to be one of 'those' women - who got pregnant straight after a miscarriage...) - I had a chat with DH this morning. Can you believe after 3 pregnancies, 2 children - he had no idea that there is only a small window each month in which to get pregnant...?? He is totally shocked!0

Don't tempt me! It's a total waste of money as I've already had 2 positive tests and am seeing my GP tomorrow; but I'm soooo tempted! I should be around 4 - 5 weeks, so would love to see if that was confirmed and I was right about having a Whitby babyI'm going to see if my GP will let me have an early scan, as from all I've read and heard about bicornuate uterus, where the egg has implanted will make all the difference
If he says no then I may have a sneaky chat with one of the registrars at work, is that cheeky? :rotfl:
I'll come back to update if / when I do a digi - but until then I suppose I should go over to the other thread. I'm going to miss you all, and hope to 'see' you all very soon over there. I'll be obsessively lurkingand can't help thinking I may be back.
*back to PMA*
Hope your DH's op goes well Tasha.0 -
Right I've brought a test (last night) still no sign of AF - although I do have quite bad cramps this morning.....
