Some of the posts are here are amazing - when people remember everyone! Takes a lot of effort - you are going to be fab mums :)
I had my first day back at work yesterday since miscarrying - not helped by someone announcing their pregnancy.. (They don't know about me)
Anyway - have decided need to get fitter - so went for a run last night (never run before) - am now in pain!
Also - trying to reduce my caffeine intake - wasn't very successful at reducing while I was pregnant and am blaming myself ..You look for reasons and this was def one thing I could have done better.
Claire16C - thanks for info on ovulation sticks (where to get them!) Off to order some now as I don't like not knowing where I am in a cycle..Dont want to wear DH out too soon! x

Ack sophiasmum, that must have been hard. :(

As for getting fitter, if you haven't ran before, why don't you try couch to 5k? you can get some NHS podcasts to encourage you along the way and I really liked them, I'm on week 7 atm (have been for a while lol).

Definitely do this! I'm half way through week 3! It really gives you the motivation to keep at it! I downloaded the podcasts and started with them but now I'm using a free app so I can play my own music and it just stops the music & comes on to tell you when to run & walk as I found the music really cheesy on the nhs one!

Thank you everyone. AF has nearly left the building but I have to say it has been very heavy for me. Maybe I am clearing my uterus for a baby...... hopefully.

Super excited today my purchase has arrived. :j

Clearblue Ovulation tests. I have bought 20. :o

Now does anyone use these? Can someone tell me what time I should test? It says morning but I am sure someone else has used them so just want advice from someone who may have used this particular type...... :)

** It works both morning and evening (I am impatient!!!) sometimes I would test last thing at night if I 'felt' different and get a smily face when I had got a circle that morning.
Good luck. ** worked for me with Preseed too. Xx
  • Claire what app is that? It sounds magical! I need to get off my bum and move around before I need the doors widening around here. :o

Already wearing my stretchiest clothes and I dread the day someone asks me when I'm due (I've unusually piled the weight onto my belly (beetle belly as my OH so charmingly called it last night) but I've read that higher stress levels and cortisol causes this so it makes sense...)

    Hi all,

Trying to stay positive but I've well and truly got my share at the moment.

AF arrived this morning with a vengence so CD1 for me.

Have decided to start doing the 5:2 to shift some weight - am about 3 stones overweight so need to get shot of it and if it's hampering my ability to conceive, then I've only got myself to blame. On my first "fasting" day today so I've got a very rumbly tummy at the moment but holding out for lunch - an Alpen bar of less than 100 cals - roll on tomorrow when I can eat as normal.

Also, had a very teary evening last night - had to go and say goodbye to my Grandad - he's terminally ill and we knew this day would come but now it's nearly here, it doesn't make it any easier. Such a sweet gentleman, so sad to be losing him. They reckon he's got a couple of days up to a couple of weeks left and I know I'm going to miss him terribly.

Trying to stay strong today and getting there but every time I think of my Grandad, it makes me teary

Hope you all have a good day
    Love Gelly

Gelly so so sorry to hear about your Granddad :grouphug:

You'll have to let me know how you get on with 5:2 - I am starting it at the weekend and also plan on walking the legs off my dogs and REALLY interested in starting the couch25k as well - would love the name of that app claire16c if you don't mind!

Not sure where I am with cycle :( AF turned out to be a quick spot on Sunday, then a day of heavy spotting yesterday and absolutely nothing today  Sticking to my salad but polishing off those banana cupcakes with frightening speed - I'm eating 2 a bloomin day! :(

Tashatutuw - I'm on my way for one of those cupcakes :D. Hope you enjoyed your chinese....... seriously - just read your last posts - I can help with those cupcakes! :)

ttc39 - I love to talk you know, hence the war and peace post! :rotfl:

Code - you made me laugh - at the start of the month, we're all desperate for OV, then we're all knackered and desperate for OV to have come and gone so we can all relax again, tee hee. Oh and loving the use of the word kajungas :rotfl:

TCD - Hope that the gp can give you some help even if it's just some time away from work for a bit :) ((hugs))

Team Lowe - I must confess that I'd found those malt teaser bars a few days ago. They had the single bars in Asda for about 55p, sainsburys have the multipacks and also there a huge bar of 150g available too....They taste like Crunch bars but with better chocolate. Very yum yum :) Yes yes, I wasn't supposed to eat it on my diet, but how could I resist. So now I can eat bunnies at easter and these all year round. That's really going to help the diet! :rotfl:

picklekin - welcome  You're in good company over here. I hope the pains are getting better from AF. I'm sure those chocolate hubby brought in are helping :) You should call the gp and ask a little more about the scan just to put your mind at ease about what will happen on the day. I'm sure it'll all be pretty straight forward, and it's not uncommon to not ovulate some months. Do you take your temperatures daily to see that ovulation has happened? Maybe an idea....... :) And birdie is right, having nice holidays to look forward to really does help keep you sane (well sane-ish)..... ;)

birdie - I might have one of those bars in my car that I picked up at Asda this morning with some shopping. If it was on my desk, I've have eaten it already! It won't last the day! ha ha

tea lover - what a nice post :) I really hope I don't make it to there this time round, but I know that there'll be a nice warm welcome if I do :)

faithhope - Well done on the weight loss and you can limit the damage whilst you're away. Maybe take the batter off the fish (I know, it's the best bit, but it also has all the calories, lol) and have it with mushy peas instead of chips. Small changes so you don't put all your fabulous 9lbs weight loss back on ;) (Says "Mrs I've got a chocolate bar waiting to be eaten, ha ha ha). That said, I did lose another 3lbs this week, so I know about sacrafice :)

time2deal - Oh, how fab, I wasn't sure if it was just a few nights away or a big holiday. Hope you have an amazing time - You've probably already left today, so we'll see you when you get back ;) Hope your nerves are settling about BD'ing again, think of it like riding a bike, but don't fall off :rotfl:

apple*pie - Hope you enjoyed the cuddles. Don't you just just love teeny weeny babies........ aaahh

purcy - thanks for the AC advice - will get plenty in if I'll be taking 4 a day. I wonder when I'd stop taking them if, I mean when I get a BFP. Hm - will worry about that later :). Hope the heavy AF is a big clear out ready for a little bean to settle in for 9 months... fingers crossed!

Kynthia - We didn't (the first time) and haven't told our families that we're trying for a baby as it would avoid weird questions and odd looks as people then sometimes wouldn't know whether to talk about it or whether not to. Oh, and you can't leave us hanging about the tarot reader - what did she say to your question, I hope she said very very soon! Temping is going ok here, had the same reading yesterday and today again. I seem to do that a lot! I don't drink often so don't see any weird spikes, and I also get hubby to wake me weekdays at 5.30am when he gets up to take it and set an alarm on weekends for 5.30am. I guess that reads back a little OCD...... :)

sophiasmum - If I tried to go for a run, I'd need to come back in a taxi! Well done to you...... :T I found swapping to tetley decaf is ok, I've been on decaf a few years now and it's not that different once you get over the intial few days. Try a few different brands though as some are good and some are awful, and we all like tea differently - you might hate the tetley decaf :).

picklekin and claire - Maybe once I lose another 14/21 lbs, I might look at that couch to 5k...... although I did say might, no promises :p I should really get that zumba DVD out that I've not opened for about 20 months!

TCD - would you believe I am that person, granted it was a Saturday night in a pub, but I was sober and asked someone when they were due - she said she wasn't pregnant - Oh god, why did the earth not swallow me up. I was absolutely mortified!

Gelly123 - So sorry to hear about your grandad. Hope you're doing ok........ I have a friend who put her hubby on the 5:2 diet and he lost about 2 stone. You should look at the MyFitnessPal app - it's free and you can track your calories and excercise (not that I do any), but you put in how much weight you want to lose and it tells you how many calories you're allowed to have. My hubby and I use it, and it really helps with portion control. Highly recommend it :)

And, I'm caught up again :)
