Oh so much to catch up on over just a couple of days!

Firstly CONGRATS!!! to fluffysox and toothfairy, wishing you both a lovely healthy pregnancy. That's three in the first week of February, what a great start.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts on timing. I see your point about being grateful just to have a baby, whenever it comes along. It isn't really for selfish reasons I'd like to avoid Christmas, more for the child's sake as I've seen how much my cousins hated having a Christmas birthday and even now that they are all in their 50s still say they wish they were born on any other day of the year (me personally, I love Christmas and a baby would be the best present ever!). I think we need to have a little think about it, although going from the due date calculator I used we have one more cycle before we'd have to decide. And due to a possible parental visit at an inconvenient time, the decision might be made for us anyway as there is no way I could BD with my mum in the next room! (I'm 32... funny enough it didn't bother me too much when I was 18 and had had a few drinks...)

I got a date for my ultrasound, it's 5 March. It will internal and external and they say I have to have a full bladder but it's enough to just drink a load of water when I get there. Can't say I'm looking forward to it but it has to be done really - I kind of hope it does show up something just so they can fix it rather than me suffering every month needlessly. I signed up for the CBFM trial too, I hope they pick me! I really want to try one but just can't seem to bring myself to buy it as there is so much else to spend the money on around here at the moment.

DH and I have managed to BD three nights in a row, and are hoping for tonight and tomorrow too. I will probably ov tomorrow. DH's cousin has just had another baby, MIL sent a photo yesterday and the baby is gorgeous, it's spurred me on a bit to keep BDing this month even though we're both tired and a bit stressed.

Trina, congrats on the opk, that is a much bigger fatter bfp than I have EVER had on a opk!

Skinty, I would BD if I were you. But maybe treat it as a "just for fun" one and if it's the "right" time then that's a bonus, but if not at least you had an enjoyable evening :D Also hugs for having an old biddy criticise your parenting skills. None of her flipping business.

Vesper - been thinking about you. Glad to hear court went ok, or at least as ok as a situation like this can be. I have to say I think your doctor is right, you have so much on your plate at the moment that one more thing (ie testing/investigations etc) might just be a bit much for you to cope with.

T2D - been catching up on your blog and will subscribe in Google Reader so I get updates. Love the Galaxy bar trying to hide :D

TeamLowe - hope you're feeling a bit better. Your colleague sounds like a bit of a stirrer to be honest.

Claire - so jealous of your holiday! We went to Venice a few years ago, only for a day trip while staying nearby, it was gorgeous. A little Venice baby would be lovely!

lilymay, so sorry about CD1, you sounded really hopeful the other day. Great that your LP was so long though, hope it stays that way.

Oh dear, this has turned out a bit long, sorry for rambling! :o

Dusty if a peak means you are ovulating today or tomorrow, personally I would set a test date of 14 days from then (if your luteal phase is normally about that long) so you arent disappointed. Otherwise youre only leaving yourself til 8-9dpo which isnt really likely to show a positive. Or at least give it til 12dpo?

    Yay Trina!

Good point Claire. Although I do have a very short lp phase normally. I normally start very light spotting then proper AF arrives. I try to convince myself the spotting is implantation bleed every time :o. If no spotting at all by next sat I know I won't be able to resist testing but will try and hold off a few more days. Although I had 3 weeks of spotting with DS. Went to docs to find out why my AF was so light and lasting so long and found out I was pg. After 18 months of trying it took the doc to tell us :rotfl:

woo, is it wrong that im so excited about my first positive? haha, i feel it should be!
although that does mean this is a super long cycle since im on cd24 already....aw well!

Ha Join the club traina. I was so exciting when I got a peak this morning. God knows what I'll be like if/when I get a bfp!

Oh yes the old/spotting implantation thing. Another thing to drive us mad when ttcing!

I got an email from clear blue to say they will email or call me but might take a while as they've had an over whelming response. I guess I better not mention I posted it on a ttc forum ...lol!

TCD - I see that you've mentioned Duo a few times. What is it? Some kind of fertility service?

Hi Miffy, Duo is a fertility monitoring service. Basically you wear a temperature sensor under your arm and download the info from it every day. Then some boffin in Cambridge has a look at it and tells you in advance when you're fertile. Apparently when they have 4 cycles worth of data they can predict when you'll ov even with crazy cycles like mine. This is my second month using it so can't really comment as to whether or not it's worth all the cash- if I finally (ever) get a BFP I'll recommend it. They've got a website though if you want better info.

AFM after 3 days of higher temps confirming ov I woke up this morning with the temperature of a corpse... well, a drop of 0.3oC. When I put it into FF they removed my crosshairs- I've now discarded the temp. I have contacted Duo again (I *will* get my money's worth) to ask them what they think is going on as I'm fearing that I've got a progesterone defect- if their data can support that then maybe I can get some sort of supplement from the GP and maybe the hideous fertility investigations can go away and I can get a lovely natural BFP. Jeepers- all the fears, hopes and rambles there....

Anyone else see drops like this on their charts? I had a similar one on the same dpo last month.

  • Wow TCD =- that sounds very scientific! A bit mind boggling for me, but you seem to be getting on well with it. Fingers crossed it gets you your BFP

Dusty - I get pre AF spotting too. Am officially on knicker watch now. I've got a CBFM too and got pregnant on it with DD so am using it again now. I BD'd the night before my first peak so hopefully timed it right.

angeltreats - good luck for your ultrasound

Afm, I really wish I hadnt read the back of the digi tests that are hiding in hubby's underwear draw. Apparently they can be used 4 days before your period is due, but obviously the lower the dpo the higher possibility of a false negative. I don't have any other tests in as I don't need the temptation. And having these in stops me testing early as they are so expensive! AF is due Monday, so I'm just going to have to try and hold out as long as poss.
  • Miffy. I wouldn't say me and Duo are getting along... more begrudgingly bumping along as I've paid for it and am stuck with it. I unrealistically thought that my first month with it would be BFP central- despite the fact that we've been trying since 04/2011. I'm pretty fed up with the whole TTC thing right now. Mark my apologies! :)

BTW... step away from the digis! ;)
  • Skint - Sorry opks don't work for me so I have no advice for you.

    TCD
    - I think Mrs T_M also had a temp dip below the coverline this month and it went up the next day. I can't remember who suggested that you also take your own internal temps to compare with the duo ones but I think it would be a good idea.

    Carla - Welcome:wave:

TL - Hope you are feeling a bit better after your rough day.

Amy - Big hugs for getting through the funeral. I wish I found running a destressor instead of chocolate:EasterBun
T2D - Glad to hear you are so upbeat. Thanks for the link to you new blog. My old laptop has finally died and I have lost all my bookmarks & passwords:(

afm. Cross hairs on ff seem to be staying put this months so can I be updated to 6dpo today or 7dpo tomorrow please Becca

Tea cake is that the chart of your temps or temps duo are telling you? I thought you were putting in temps they were sending to you in which case your own one you took today wouldn't necessarily tally up anyway as you don't know what time they are taking them.

Or have I got that wrong?

Your previous month has white dots so you can't rely on those ones so I wouldn't worry.
