ok ladies, want some advice - I want this to be THE month it happens. My cycles so far have been 43 days and 42 days. I am currently on CD14...what should be my best strategy? Am going to be on holiday from CD26 so was thinking of DTD everyday from then until CD30 as not going to have any stresses? What do others think?

On a different note, has anyone else watched any of the baby season on BBC3 - feeling a little frustrated that some of the couples fell pregnant accidently.

Hugs to all those in need

I plan to call docs on Monday (i have to be at work tomorrow for important meeting) I know I have to go but my docs have a policy where you have to call at 8.30am (i start work at 8) then wait for a call back from nurse, if they then think its serious enough you have to go down to docs to see a triage nurse, and are then fitted into the docs appointments where possible .... this means I'd properly end up spending 30mins on phone trying to get through, then called in and potentially end up sitting there for couple of hours to see doc (its happened before to me, it literally takes whole morning for 10min appointment.)

The supermarket had run out of pregnancy tests! Literally none even the really expensive ones on shelf, and I got home to discover the spotting has started again, obviously if things get worse or weirder I'll call the out of hours gp if necessary over weekend and hubbys going to get me a test tomorrow evening.
  • Fluffnutter. How did you find IVF? Did you have it with ICSI?
I'm so glad it worked for you.

I can't remember who said it but it feels exactly like I'm in mourning. I just keep getting these great big waves of grief hitting me- one minute I'm fine and the next I'm struggling not to lie down on the floor and shout, scream and cry. In my more 'normal' moments I feel like I'm being melodramatic- after all I'm not out until everything fails. At the same time though it's heartbreaking that I won't ever have that whole normal pregnancy experience that I'd dreamed of since being a little girl.

I wish I could stay away from work, my GP has offered to sign me off, but I don't feel like I can because it'll leave work short and our sickness policy is brutal. If I went onto monitoring I can only think that it'd stress me out even more. I don't know what to do.

Duo want me to access all of the hospital reports (yeah- cause that's dead easy...) before they'll tell me if I can stop using the stupid machine and get a 'partial refund'. I was a bit surprised it's only 'partial' as if I'd just not got pregnant over the 12 months of using it I'd get all my money back- but because it's my fault for being duff I'll only get a partial refund. Just another kick in the teeth I suppose. That money could've gone to private IVF fund for when NHS cycles go tits up... This is all assuming that my uterus is actually good enough anyway and the IVF folks don't turn me down.

Jeez, I've waffled on. Sorry. Thank you for all of your lovely messages. xxx

Yeah watched that last night. Some classic quotes really annoyed me like the couple who had been together for 4 months and she got pregnant & the guy says 'we had been trying for quite a while but it was still a shock'

Really? What did you do start trying 24 hours after you met one another???! And how in any way is it a shock then? Grr!!

It's hard to say when to start dtd incase this months cycle is shorter. I'd want to start earlier than cd26 incase. I've had a 40odd day cycle followed by a 30 day one so I would have missed it if I'd done that.

If probably start now if you're on cd14 but you don't have to do it everyday, every other day is fine. Then if you get ewcm do it everyday for a few days.

Teacake that's madness about the duo thing!

I'm really sorry for what you're going through it really is like grieving. Could you take any time off work at all? Even just a day?

I'm refusing to watch bbc three til all the pregnancy shows go away. I can't deal with them right now.

TCD - I think it's ok to feel grief and you're not being melodramatic. I feel a tiny bit of grief every month, and as I begin to accept that the baby thing is probably not going to happen without intervention it gets worse. I can't really express it - sometimes I feel accepting and other times, I just want to curl into a ball under a duvet and cry. In my meaner moments, I see pregnant ladies at the train station and want to shove them under the train. I hope the IVF works for you.
