I think the ostrich thing is really common in men. Almost like it challenges their masculinity in some way..daft.

At least you have a timeline to work towards. In the meantime could you 'encourage' him nutritionally maybe? Up the amount of zinc he has or even get him to take a supplement?

I had OH on a conception vit for men which I think helped. His diet was rubbish and he used to drink way too much (and smoke) none of which is condusive to healthy swimmers.

I've got him on some teenage chewable vitamins with zinc because he can't swallow pills. He doesn't drink or smoke.

Just frustrated I guess. I'm not the most patient person at the best of times and that stupid question on the form has just made me realise how pointless this all is.

Also, I'm very aware that my body is susceptible to stress especially around ovulation but work is the most stressful place in the world and I cant find another job and we can't afford for me to quit. So yet another fail.

I'm having to lay on the sofa instead of sit on it to dice up the veg for dinner tonight. I think I'm ok walking and swimming, so I'll just stick to that until I'm half my current size. I *may* try a spin class again once I'm completely finished losing weight.

Can't you just stand up as normal so you're not touching your poor bum on anything?! Sounds painful!
wow, I have to say I am seriously impressed with the speed of my gynae appointment.

I saw the gp this weekend, who agreed to refer me for investigation after recurrent miscarriages, despite the fact they haven't actually seen any evidence of the third.

I got a phonecall today from the appointment office, a choice of about five different hospitals, and my gynae appointment is booked for 27th march!! :T

I was going to keep trying until my appointment came through, but it's so close, I wonder if I should wait until I have seen the consultant?

I'd keep trying what have you got to lose?

Code I don't know how far off your weight is from where you want it to be but if its fairly close maybe you should reign in the 6 months timing thing based on the fact it's really been 3 years and just go back to the drs now? Seems like it cant do any harm going earlier rather than later? Especially as youre feeling down it might help to put a plan in place.

I had a missed call today but don't think it was clear blue as they didn't leave a message. Purcy that's depressing I remember when you got your bfp on here. I'm loosing hope of getting pregnant before my due date too.

I don't think anyone is patient when it comes to ttc. It can turn the best of us into raving madwomen.

It isn't pointless hon. You've been given the all clear which is great news, so there is a good chance that it may be something on your OH's side which may well be easy to treat and improve. I remember Q saying her DH had a very low sperm count, but they managed to improve it a lot with treatment.

I also agree with claire in that maybe you should look at shelving the 6 month hiatus and getting things underway now.

Is there anyway that DH would agree to that given how unhappy it's making you? I cant see why he thinks waiting another 6 months is going to be helpful in anyway?

Nope. Snowball's chance in hell. He's less than keen. I need to wait for him to change his mind on his own, which he will if I don't push. 6 months was the compromise and I only suggested that so I could lose weight. Plus, I feel like a total failure for even needing the help in the first place if that makes sense. I should be able to make a baby without doctors poking at me.

I need some sympathy and I know you guys are going to understand. I'm feeling really low atm. I feel like I'm being left behind. All my friends have kids, some have 3, and several of the kids I used to babysit for now have children too. I'm already a great-aunt and will most likely be a great-great-aunt before I'm a mum (oldest great niece is almost 15 and most girls in my family get pregnant in their late teens). Loads of the old timers from here are moving on which is great but...I'm still here. No sign of progress. Certainly no sign of a BFP - I've never even had one, or a baby. And our search for a fur baby is stalling too - we can't find a suitable dog. And at the rescue place there was a box for planning a baby and I didn't tick it, because we've been trying unsuccessfully for so long that it's irrelevant. I've not taken any supplements (inc folic acid) for days because what's the point? I'm sick of waiting. I'm out of patience and I'm just a big fat failure and clearly I can't even adopt because if we cant even find a suitable dog, we'll never find a child. :(:(:(:(:(

Lots of warm hugs and :kisses: to you codemonkey... Likewise with me. I keep telling myself that it is normal to seek doctors for conceiving, but I don't feel happy about it.
I guess we all would love if things happened more naturally.. And the NHS doesn't make it easier anyway!

    Gia.

Is he as keen as you to start a family code? I'm just wondering why he wants to wait.

If that's the way it is, then that's the way it is, but please don't lose hope x

I hope no one minds me posting btw.

Go away preggo!! We don't like your kind round here :rotfl::rotfl:

He is keen to start a family. Always cooing over babies, has named our first born, and talks about when we have kids, how he'll be the fun parent and how we'll reorganise the spare room into a nursery. It's more an admission of failure thing I think. Maybe the worry that if it is him, I'll want to leave him, possibly having seen what something as innocuous as the lowest of low dose pill did to me he's scared of living with me on some strong fertility drugs.

Don't know. Just feeling icky about it all. Doesn't help that I've hoovered up all of the bad junk food.
