    Hi

It was funny to read the stories of the old days. I'd say probably 9 out of 10 women would say that giving birth is pain like you never knew existed but some do seem to pop them out. Hopefully we will all be popping them out soon:) I have a little girl who came after 2 mcs and I described to my friend that giving birth is like falling 30ft down a well, breaking every bone in your body but landing on a winning lottery ticket. It's fine if you get enough drugs in you :rotfl:

Hugs for those who have AF - and hospital appts hope everything goes well.

Twigpig - Probably just ovulation bleeding but I would check with doc.
Abis - We're all on tenterhooks with you - hope in the nicest way that you'll be moving on soon.
Wishing baby dust to everyone xx.

Hi all - hope you're well? Have been reading and lurking lots of the last few days but not been able to post - thank goodness for mobile phones, I've had to "up" my allowance to be able to read the forums whilst on the go...I'm that addicted.

Had my appt with GP on Friday and after the scans, she confirmed no sign of PCOS or any problems so it's just a wait and see as we've only been trying 5 months.

Told her I'm using CBFM as I'm very conscious of my age (34) so I want to track what's going on with my bonkers body and told her I had no sign of OV this month - she advised that CBFM is probably the best thing I can do for now.

Made it to CD31 yesterday which is totally unheard of for me - normally CD15-16 and then back to square one but, I think I might actually be starting to get a "normal" cycle as on CD1 today - just as I was unwrapping the IC test this morning, I started AF. Slightly gutted I'm not PG but also a little pleased that it's a sign my cycles might be returning to normal having stopped the depo inj last year.

Am incredibly emotional today too - managed to well up twice at work this morning before 9am - frustrated with our stupid IT systems but I've never really had emotions with cycles before as I've always been on the pill or depo inj. Must learn to control these as I can't be an emotional wreck at work!

Off to Centerparcs on Friday for the weekend - we're taking some friends with us - her husband and their 3 boys don't know they're going. It was only £30 more to have a lodge with 3 bedrooms rather than 2 so we decided to go for it and take some friends who would never get to go to CP otherwise - so looking forward to it but will be wrapping up very warm.

Hope you are all having a good day so far - it's a glorious sunny day here but bitterly cold.

    Love Gelly

Last month I had really bad ov pains, they made me wince when I was driving! It wasnt pleasant but I was just happy to be ovulating so early! I thought at the time god Id never be able to bd through this, but luckily the pain was gone by the evening. I was thinking is this yet another way our bodies are conspiring against us to stop us getting pregnant??

Maybe it depended on the hospital or something cos Im older than you and my Dad was there at mine? Perhaps they were sort of phasing it in then? lol

Im sure some of my friends Dads were too from stories Ive heard, they always seem to come out at wedding speeches for some reason :rotfl:

Maybe my Dad was just very keen to *not* be a new-age man present at the births of his children?! Wouldn't put it past him. :p

My Mum's pretty hard too; a few years ago I went through a phase of reading the birth stories and 'things they don't tell you about pregnancy' threads on MSE and was horrifed... mentioned reading about some women needing 'intimate' stiches to my Mum and she was like, 'Oh it's nothing. You have a little cut, they stitch it up. Get over it. None of this pouring warm water over your lady while you wee nonsense. Pfft.' _pale_ I wonder if a lot of the pain has been forgotten over the years though as shortly after I was born my Mum made my Dad have the snip as he 'had one of each so she was done!'. :p

And with the OV pains... why the heck do we have pains and bloating and spots at OV time?! Surely that's going against the whole point of OV, we're supposed to be irresitible and insatiable at this time, not fat, ugly and doubled over with pain! Stupid Mother Nature! :p

Keeping my fingers crossed for your OH chocgirl! :)

ETA: Hugs Gelly. Have a lovely weekend away! :)

Mrs TM - big hugs. Gutted for you.

Abis - tentative congrats, I will get excited for you when we see a digi ;) But fingers tightly crossed.

AFM I am on CD48 and have been spotting for the last five or six days in a row but no sign of proper AF and no proper AF symptoms, and definitely no sign of ovulation. Fed up does not even describe it.

No word from the Clearblue people either - I sent the form back about a week ago I think.

Becca, just a small correction, I am CD 37and Awaiting AF/BFP.
Still getting BFNs.. had few cramps last week but not sure if I should consider them as signs.
Will be calling GP today to do some blood tests to see hormone levels. Hope my GP shows some empathy! I wish the process was a bit simpler and quicker.

Ah ovulation - where you're meant to be clearer skinned, more symmetrical and irresistible to the opposite sex. Except I get massive red spots, bloating and am ridiculously grumpy and tired and as a result of being mean, DH likes to hide from me. Thanks for that body!

And while we're on the subject still have ewcm around my cervix and and lotiony/sticky cm further down. Cervix is closed but high. Negative opk yesterday (line was just slightly lighter) but no other ov symptoms. I honestly thought I ovd on Saturday but obviously not. Sigh.

I'm glad I'm not the only OV-minger! :rotfl: Don't know why OH doesn't fancy me when I've got a spotty chin and giant bloated belly! :p

Hope your body sorts itself out quickly, so annoying when you seem to be gearing up to it but nothing happens!

Hehe! Yes maybe he was one of the last to get away with not being in the room.

I did child development GCSE so we learnt about birth and what can happen with all the gruesome details included, so I was quite aware of that type of thing from an early age so it makes me smile when I see grown men watching OBEM and screwing their eyes up in horror.

I watched that goggle box programme the other night, and it was hilarious - the women watching OBEM were mainly cooeing over the babies when they appeared, and just sort of looking at the screen watching the births, whilst the men were groaning, shielding their eyes, asking if it was over yet etc. I said to DH blimey youd think it was them giving birth!!

Yes exactly!! Why on earth do we get spots at that time? It makes no sense whatsoever!

Abis i don't know why you're so pessimistic, what did you expect to be going on with the tests this morning? AF isn't due yet so you're not likely to get a strong result. and a line is a line is a line. keep the faith lady, all will be ok i just know it, even if you can't believe it :)

AFM i'm beginning to hope which is downright stooopid :o
my luteal phase is usually 12 days so if i oved when i think i did i should be spotting by now i reckons but no dice and the ladies are rather sore like they are towards the end of my cycle, i'm really rather irritable, yesterday i cried at the news when they showed little kids going through their drill for if there's a gunman in the school. oh and for a crazy bit of SSing, i know pregnancy weakens your teeth and my back right lower tooth has had a huge chunk just fall out and i don't know when! :rotfl:
