Absolutely. And the first donor had already fathered other children. It's a dangerous path to go down though. I don't want to be in the position where we resent or blame each other when this doesn't happen. There might be million reasons why it's not happening. I don't know. To proceed with fertility treatment I need DH to accept there's something wrong and he's still in ostrich mode while I'm very aware that while I wait, the clock keeps ticking.

I've tried everything I can. Opks, agnus castus, soy, raspberry leaf tea, maca root, b vitamins, red clover blossom infusions, apple cider vinegar, progesterone cream, conceive plus and anything else I can think of, I wear a rose quartz bracelet (largely because it's pretty). I haven't always been overweight but failure=comfort eating. I've largely given up caffeine which earns me funny looks from my colleagues because we're systems developers and we all exist on caffeine. I don't drink much. I dont smoke. I've tried everything that's within my control and I still have trouble getting DH to take his vitamins.

Code when you say all your tests are fine, does this include a HyCoSy/HSG? has DH had an SA?

Lily where are you intending to go (if you don't mind me asking) where IVF is the same price as IUI? or is it with egg sharing? think if the NHS doesn't do much for us then i'll be going the same route as TTC40 and having follicle tracking, which looks fairly inexpensive.

i think it's a bit misleading to compare a live birth rate of 25% from IVF to 'natural conception of a healthy couple' rate of 25%.
this is the clinic i was looking at:
    http://www.carefertility.com/care-fertility-sc0/excellent-results-sj10/

Yes it's through the egg sharing route. I fit all the criteria so long as I don't have any underlying genetic problems! Both IUI and IVF (for us) would be about £1000 a cycle but the latter has a much higher chance of success. So far as I can gather, the IVF success rate is quite a lot higher than 25% for someone of my age/weight/history etc.

I have decided against folly tracking and trigger shots as, for us, they are totally unnecessary. Whether I have an ultrasound or not, my follies will grow and I will ovulate. We don't need to know specific timings in advance as we BD more than enough anyway. An initial consultation and scan is about £400...that's half an IVF/IUI cycle! I'd rather save my money for that.

When is your next FS appointment? They're giving you clomid aren't they?

    Morning ladies,

those wondering about the cb trial, I emailed them yday to ask if they've filled all the places. I got an email back to say they are still sifting through the responses as they got an overwhelming number of applicants!
So hold tight, if you're on their list they'll get to you eventually. I'm hoping!

Got a second +ve opk last night. Think id worn OH out though as he passed out as soon as his head hit the pillow. Hopefully some little swimmers have hung around from earlier in the week.

Code - Big big hugs. I have also had those thoughts...I have decided to try everything available to me until I hit my forties and if I am still not pregnant then I will just accept that it wasn't meant to be for us. But it does hurt to think there is a possiblity that may be no chidren at all for us.

Good Luck to all the ladies accepted for the trial, hope the new gizmos do the trick;)

Mrs T_M - You are going to be super fit with all that exercise. I am hoping to learn to swim this year but I am kinda scared of deep water.

    - Hugs for the trouble with your cycles. I can't imagine having to suffer through that each month. Although I have long cycles they aren't painful. I hope the docs manage to make it more bareable for you.

Vesper - If you are lurking, thinking of you and hope things are going OK.

Atton - Hope you have been to the doc and are feeling better.

firefly - go for it on the swimming. I used to teach an adult swimming class and it may seem daunting but you'll benefit so much from it. My beginners class was only about 5 people, so you really got to give each person 1 to 1 attention.
I had a lady who had booked a holiday with her kids and wanted to surprise them by being able to snorkle with them when they went.
She came on leaps and bounds, from being terrified to being able to swim a length unaided over a couple of months.

It still amazes me that we allow children to grow up without learning to swim.

6 days til the gynae! and yes they will be, or at least they said they would last time if i wasn't pregnant by the next appointment.
I'm clinging on to hope that clomid will be all i need-ovulation seems to be the trouble apart from DH's morphology which i'll ask about as well, as it was only just under the normal range and he has a high number of grade A motile.
when i had a 35 day cycle i had got pregnant the first month of definitely not using anything, so i have a suspicion that since then any eggs i've released have been a bit dud, considering how long they take to make
I've been googling treatment options like mad cos i like to know the worst case scenario plus DH does not like the idea of IVF due to the amount of drugs i'd have to take-he has some sort of odd issue with people taking medication i've never got to the bottom of.

egg donation does seem like a great deal, think that care clinic it's 700 and no medication costs which is a massive reduction. fingers crossed you won't need it though and your forever baby is on its way soon! x x

    Nice to see you lilymay.
*hugs* Code, same here 3 close famliy pregnacies and now their births in the time of my ttc. Has your OH had a SA
Think we would be the IUI route, rather try the 25% chance, than the 1.5% chance we have each month with my OH's sperm results. But still awaiting for all tests tho, it's dragging waiting.
    Question
Which is better to use preeseed or conceive plus?

Just blood tests. DH wants to try for a little longer before we get help. I think the idea that we might not do this without help is too emasculating to him.

Sigh. Anyway work have done something to further lower my already rock bottom morale and now I'm no longer sad. I am, in fact, incandescent with rage. I'm actually starting to think work related stress is not helping but I can't afford to give up work.

Nice to pop in and see everyone every so often. 25% chance is a big improvement on 1.5% :)

I've used conceive plus and pressed and neither have worked :rotfl: I think I prefer preseed though.

TL - 6 day? Good luck. My next appointment is the day after yours so hopefully we both get some good news. Clomid is designed for people like you so fingers crossed it does its job.

FF says AF is due on my birthday though I think it's more likely to arrive next Thursday/Friday. I've had no urge to test this month and I even forgot to go for my prog test yesterday so maybe this "cba" approach will do the trick.

Thanks lilymay, worth a go to try to get chances up to 2% at least. Poor OH's count means that they barely get pass the cervix. So I think IUI might be a option for us. Of Course that all depends on the other tests they suggest to do.
