I think I'll decline.
 £60!
I bought quite a lot of stuff for my best friend, but I gave it all to her after the birth.
If its nursery stuff, does that mean the mother to be hasnt actually bought any stuff herself then and has planned the list? Otherwise how would they know what she wanted/had got already?0 -
Another one here on 3rd or 4th thread
This will definitely be the last one I'm on though as this is our only go at ICSI unless we win the lottery
As for birthdays-mine is 31st December which is poo, hubby and sons are also December as is our wedding anniversary, it is awful, everyone is skint and the weather is rubbish usually
That's enough grumping from me-am off to have a chat with my ovaries before going in for collection tomorrow0 -

The invite has come through her sister so I'm guessing the pregnant one has put her order in. I wouldn't mind if it was for a struggling young couple, but they're extremely well off. Seems a bit cheeky. I don't even know her all that well!!Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

(No offence Mrs T_M, I just wasn't aware this was something we did here.)
No offence taken! We do it so that we don't end up with a billion tubes of nappy cream, or 10 of the exact same outfit. If/when I get pregnant, I will have a list for my shower, but it will have lots of choice on it. Example: cloth nappies - any size, any style, onesies, and maybe a sash to help carry the little one when I'm out. That's about it. If anyone wants to get me anything else, so be it!
In the States, lots of people actually do a gift registry, but those are honestly tedious and boring. The only good thing about it is that once someone buys something, it is taken off the list, that way you don't end up with tons of the exact same thing.
With that being said, expecting guests to furnish the nursery is insane!0 -
I made it quite clear I wasn't interested in a baby shower when expecting DS but got a surprise one anyway. I couldnt bear the thought of playing games.......sober:D
I was the first out of our gang of girls to get pg so I think they all just got a bit giddy.
It was on a Friday though after a long week at work when i was 36wks and AT MY HOUSE! You can imagine how I felt walking through the door that night trying to be all pleased but secretly wanting to get my pjs on and slob out :rotfl: and the cleaning up after
My bf is expecting twins next month (thanks to my CBFM) and we're all going for a meal instead. We're all throwing in £10 for a gift and doing her a maternity leave hamper with DVDs, smellies, vouchers etc in it. Absolutely no presents for the babies as she'll get sooooo much once born.
£60 is just absurd, I think that was the cost of our cot off eBay ha!0 -
I think I'm going to have a no-baby shower with a gift list for private fertility treatment.
My gift list will be the local private fertility clinic's menu. So e.g someone can buy a SA for DH for £100.
