Trying for a Baby Part 9

mostly I had just said hi to T2D and wished you luck for the lymph node results, and hugs to BigZ.
I also just want to ask, is anyone trying to avoid having a Christmas baby and potentially taking a break at the time when it would give them a due date of aroud Christmas? I have several family members all born on 25 December and they hate it, when they were younger they never ever had birthday parties on their actual birthday and always ended up with one present for both, if you see what I mean. I always felt sorry for them and
now I think I'd really rather avoid it myself. Any thoughts? It would mean us trying this cycle and next cycle but taking a break in April.
I think trying for a "specific time of year" baby is a luxury only those who have no problems can afford. Personally, I think it's a bit stupid as I'm sure we could all find a reason not to have a baby at a specific time of year.
If I am pregnant right now...the due date will be the same date as my daughters death and will mean all 3 of my children will be born within 6 days of one another. Do I care? Not a jiffy.
But that's just my opinion. Besides, babies don't always arrive when they are supposed to...14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Nope I dont care.
When i did get pregnant the due date was in July - & I had always thought I would prefer to have a baby born in the autumn or winter(for school purposes, and not being the youngest in the class etc, being the last one to be able to drive, drink etc)
, but I just thought great, summer birthday parties, pushing the pram around in the sun, being able to get out easier etc.
I couldnt care less now after the miscarriage! Any day is a good day to have a baby as far as Im concerned. Plus someone I know had a baby due in October and it came in August! So even if you miss out one month, you might have to miss out some more!0 -

Aww bless you. I can imagine how rubbish having a birthday on those dates would be. My birthday is near Valentine's day and I've always hated it. We can't get good deals on going away, flowers are expensive, birthday cards are rubbish and people are still poor from Christmas and fed up with winter or too busy having sex to come out. That being said, I've been at this far too long and am more than aware that on a good cycle the chances of getting pregnant aren't that high so I'll take a baby born at Christmas, February or Halloween. I don't care.
If you want to take a break, then do so, but just be aware that just because you try that month, doesn't mean it will happen. And as lily said, babies come when they want. Who's to say the carefully planned baby conceived in March or May wont come in December anyway?

Ooh, lovely new thread! Let's hope that it's lucky for us all. Thanks for starting it, Becca, and thanks also for updating the lists each day. Good luck for your fertility specialist appointment as well.
Time2deal - really hope that everything goes well with you and the lymph nodes come back clear and that recovery from your surgery goes well. You have such a positive attitude.
Abis - so sorry to read your news. Take care of yourself.
Hugs to everyone else that needs them. About friends etc getting pregnant - I'm just about the last of my friends to have a baby, most are already on their second (one had her 5th last year!). I've been with DH for 12 years and people stopped asking us a long time ago about babies, so they'll be pretty shocked if it happens for us. For a long time I've felt so jealous when one has announced a pregnancy. Circumstances have led us to only start trying now though.
CD10 today and getting EWCM. Usually get this for a good few days so expecting ov by the weekend. We BD yesterday, no chance tonight as DH is away for a conference but will be trying again before the weekend!Hold my hand harder

Ok can I just ask? What the hell is with baby showers? I've just been invited to one and there's a gift list?!! When did I become American??

A wedding list I can just about cope with - although I often ignore them. But a baby shower list is just bl00dy rude.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Ive heard of a quite a few people I know through friends having showers, but not a gift list! Thats just weird. I like to choose presents for a baby myself! My friends who have had babys either didnt have a shower, or one had a meal with the females in their family.
Plus I dont like the idea of buying so much stuff before the baby is born.0 -
I don't mind the idea of buying a present for the baby when it's born, but they seem to want the guests to furnish the nursery and none of it is cheap - the cheapest thing on there is £60.
I think I'll decline.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0
