Didn't need to use the sim in the Iphone, just needed an active sim which had been used to make and received calls for about a week, with a credit balance and a Vodafone number

At the end of the day vodafone unlocked my replacement phone, and now its locked back to orange which i am having to pay for them to unlock, there is a thread on Macrumors where other people used the vodafone loophole to get their phones unlocked

So you conned Vodafone to unlock an Orange phone and you are surprised its now backfired?

It's pretty simple to realise Vodafone unlocks Vodafone phones and Orange unlocks Orange phones, seems like you took a chance and its now bitten you on the backside.....

Result was I have had a free unlock for 2 years and now have to pay what I should have, no harm done

  • You can use unlock imei service for unlock t-mobile. For example go to google and make search. I unlock my T-mobile here (letsunlockiphone5 .com/category/t-mobile-factory-unlock-iphone/). Price for unlock start from $9.99 - but it can be different.

Given your a posting a link in dollars it's probably irrelevant in the UK.

    Spammer me thinks
  • Has anyone had any luck getting a second hand tmobile iphone unlocked?
TMobile CS are being completely useless and are saying that they cant unlock my phone since it's not registered to my account and the only time they are able to register a phone to an account is at a time of purchase if the phone is bought from them directly. I kow the previous owner bought the phone from Carphone warehouse, but they can't help me. Also spoke to Apple, who said the phone has never been registered to anyone and that tmobile should be able to regsiter it to me no problem.
I don't know what to do now, Tmobile are not giving me a way forward at all. Who can I complain to?
Do you think Apple might unlock it if I explain my situation?

Apple will not unlock any iPhone for any reason, I've just been down that route.

The only people that can action an unlock are the network.

Yes, there is a way for you to do it...

You fill out the unlocking form on the EE website or phone 150 and ask them to do it, pay them £20.42 and then wait for the unlock to be processed.

You need to have held the account for at least 6 months before doing it.
