I am a victim seller on Amazon

I have sold a brand new Ipod 4th generation on Amazon on 22 November 2012. The item was sealed.
I received a buyer complaint on 14 January saying that they were having problems with the ipod and it was not genuine and that they took it to an apple engineer who couldn't find its serial number and that the screen has been changed.
All of this was lies from the buyer. The buyer requested a refund. I didn't authorise it.
He made an A-Z claim via Amazon recently. I reponded to the claim.
Today, Amazon have written to me that they have decided to refund the buyer from my account because they say that i have sold the buyer counterfeit items.
Please help me, what shall i do now?
I only sold the buyer brand new items.
I am at loss now. I'm not happy with Amazons decision.

what evidence do you have of where you obtained this brand new sealed Ipod which you then sold?
was it an unwanted gift? prize? purchased by you?John0 -
I had won this ipod via an instant win competition few years ago. and i didn't use it. but decided to sell it now.0

The thing is it could actually be counterfeit. If you've never opened it you don't really know. Especially when it looks like you've got it from an unusual source. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

How long ago? Have you retained any evidence of the win?
If not then you are in a tough place - you have no evidence to prove the item you sold was a genuine one obtained in a genuine way - I think you will have to accept Amazon's decision and as it was a prize then you have lost nothing financially.John0 -
I still have evidence email of the winning ipod.
it was sent to me on 06/09/2008
But will they believe it?
I also need the ipod back. Does the buyer have the rights to keep it?0 -

If you have the email then that is evidence - forward it to Amazon and do whatever it takes to refund the buyer and get the Ipod back. You can then take it up with the comp provider - puts them in a bad place - instant win competition giving out counterfeit prizes? Not good!!John0

its actually the buyer lying - I don't think Boost were giving out counterfeit items.
The annoying thing that comes to mind is can the Buyer proof that this item is counterfiet? why don't they send it to amazon? how can i prove that the buyer is making things up because he is really making things up.0 -
If the item was genuine its likely that the buyer switched it for a counterfeit iPod. I suspect that is the one you will get back. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
