    Hi all,

Was a little 'jaded' this morning we went out for a couple of drinks and got 'strong armed' into going for a Chinese, we,ve not been out for ages, and it was a great night - OH fell asleep on sofa when we got home, I woke him at 3am and made him come to bed LOL

WM has been busy, flippin TD keeps triping the ciruits, hope its not fatal, don,t use it alot, but had loads to wash today and it speads things up - hey-ho if its dead, I will not replace it.

Bought 10 LED bulbs with a nice £75 cashback from quidco, they are now all installed and should save us a few quid a month on the lecci bill.

Spent £50 between Mr L and Mr S, over half of what I was spending 18 months ago - all due to you lovelies on here x:T

MOLLY - hope you feel better soon x

HESTER - good on you, I wish I had a talent I could use to earn a few extra quid - I suppose I could sell by body, if I sold it by the ounce, I,d make a tidy sum...:rotfl:

MONNAGRAN - you put me to shame, love reading you posts, I sometimes wonder if we,ve 'met' on the sunshine isle and never knew it LOL

    I,ll stop burbelling now.

    Hugs to all xx

    Have a fab day x

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Halight, that's a given.

    Ouch Molly, poor you.
Monno, I have to do something in the evenings, I can't just sit.
I have 6 blankets made & don't want to end up with a blanket mountain & I'd like to make a little cash just to pay for more yarn.

Just noticed your comment about ISAs. I am trying to do some research as well and would like to do better than 3% but can't remember where I saw the information.

The easier the info is to find - the lower the rate they quote

The best I found (for the fixed rate term we required) was 2.95%. I think it was from First Save.

But I hadn't heard of them before, so in the end we went for a rate that was a little lower from our own bank. It was dead easy, just a couple of mouse clicks and it was done.

  • Hi all,
Finished painting one wall of the kitchen (cut in in a straight line next to the inbuilt freezer as there is no way I can get on top of it to paint).
OH has taken three of the children to his parent's and they are staying the night, so I get some lovely time with my 6 yr old (no.3).
Eldest was offer a free bootfair table for tomorrow and immediately packed 5 boxes of stuff into the car - the fastest I've ever seen her do anything!

I have a cross stitch to finish for MILs birthday on 12th - I'm very slow and it's quite complex, just hope I can finish it in time. x
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

    Evening
Cold here today nice and dry though. What was going to be a NSD turned out anything but... good friend invited DS and I out with her and her DS. Had walk round shops then made our way to the swedish store. After a nice lunch I bought a few bits came to £30 least I have ever spent there and all "essentials"! Did get couple of bits for my mum so will get a little back. Thats it now, only other expeniditure will be when we visit DD.
OS as we had lunch out we just had sandwich for tea, DW on, bit of a tidy up, finally got round to cutting up Xmas cards to make gift tags for this year, did a magazine swap with my friend, my mum gets one and so does friend and I, we then swap them over so kind of get 3 for the price of one, we all subscribe so get them cheaper than cover price and mine was bought with Tesc0 vouchers so bargain.
    Thoughts to all.

Its lashing it down last night here, woke up to all the frozen rain on the windows and the cars covered in ice.

mono - sounds like another busy day!

Hello all, never seem to get on early any more.

Took OH out for breakfast this morning, so that's my food out budget done for February...don't think I'll ever learn.

Beautiful blue sky here but very cold...was nice to see the sun though and it was bright until quite late.

Hester....I did 2 metre square blankets for most of my girls for Christmas....figured that most of them cost about €50 and that they would have taken 2 working weeks to finish, so would not be prepared to sell them for small money. If you are getting the wool free I would still try for a decent price. Was amazed with the different prices quoted on Folksy. Good luck with sales.

Molly....sorry to hear about your further back problem, hope that they can find something to help.

Need to be up early as we are going to recently widowed SIL for 11o'c so must be up early to call DGD1 who will be 8 tomorrow...or she will be on to know why I haven't called.

Jools...why are you washing for offspring old enough to be working???

Sleep well all and stay warm
