It appears that the ban has been lifted and that both Companies House and the DVLA are happy that the signs just say "Town and City Parking" ( with "Ltd" deleted) even though that's not the name of the new company.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

The only thing left I can think of is a complaint to the ICO that the DVLA are releasing data to a PPC that do not have 'Reasonable Cause' to obtain DVLA data, as they cannot form a contract with those signs. And what's more, the DVLA have been informed of such.

    Clutching at straws now though.

Clearly this has nothing to do with the rather large revenue stream from TCP that the DVLA receives. Oh no sirree Bob.

Well well, only another 45 mins on site and that's me due another 'ticket'.
I do hope they carry through with their threats.

Can confirm that felt tip man has visited my local ASDA and done his bit for mankind!

Presumably if the application of a felt tip to a word on a 'contractual notice' can make the company compliant again, wouldn't a (vexatious) felt tip to another PPC's notice, erasing part of their company name, make them non-compliant - in the context of DVLA criteria? :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Maybe, but it could also be taken as damage ( ie vandalism)
However if you were feeling charitable you could always clean their signs for them, and get rid of any dirty marks that may be present.

You could always say that you thought it was the local yobs defacing the signs, and that you were acting as a good citizen in cleaning the marks off.

  • There are still signs in Perth stating "Town and City Parking Ltd". They also threaten "Civil Penalties".

    Tut, tut. That's illegal.

A complaint to mike Butler with photo evidence would leave them with a problem.
  • I'll try to get one tomorrow.

Also, I'm old, okay, so remind me who Mike Butler is. :-)

Trisontana, it WAS local yobs - TCP!

    Mike Butler - DVLA
The chap who insists TCP/Smart are now compliant because they provided evidence that ALL their signs have been modified.
