Nice to see that persistence and hard work has paid off bringing about this long overdue DVLA ban.
I consider TCP to be nothing short of a real menace at my local ASDA. We currently have a particularly officious TCP parking attendant who pursues ASDA customers in an energetic and pretty merciless manner (previous parking attendants have maintained a fairly low profile but not this one). On one occasion I observed a young mother with a small child being threatened with a ticket after she had merely left her vehicle to get some change from ASDA customer services. The lady was clearly just about in tears after the dressing down she received. It is an absolute disgrace that customers should be treated in this way.
Good to see these misery makers being brought down to size.0 -
I have just had a pleasant walk through some of the TCP infested car parks in Perth. Their "modification" to the signs is to paint or put a bit tape over "Ltd" so that the signs read TCP.
I should have thought that they should read "Smart Parking, trading as TCP"? Off to check on that.
Edit: In chapter 2 of the link it states that:
"If the Business Names Act 1985 applies to you (see chapter 1, question 3) then you must comply with all the disclosure rules. For example, if Mr W Jones trades as 'W Jones Bakery', then the disclosure rules of the Business Names Act apply. Disclosure rules also apply to incorporated companies that trade under a different name, for example, ABC Foods Limited trading as ABC".
"You will need to disclose:
the corporate name (if the company uses a different trading name)"
"You will need to show the information clearly:
in any place where you carry on your business and where you deal with customers or suppliers"
and "It is a criminal offence if you:
use a business name that requires prior approval and you have not obtained that approval;
do not disclose business information required under the Business Names Act and if appropriate, the changes implemented on 1 October 2008 (see question 1)
Please note, if you do not make your business details available, or you do not display them, you may not be able to enforce a contract that you have entered into."

Atilla has checked with the DVLA and they don't care apparently.
It would be worth checking with Companies House I reckon.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Hi Manx,
I have drafted an e-mail to Companies House and will forward it if DVLA don't show any interest.
I have also informed the local paper in case they are interested.0 -
Good stuff.Je Suis Cecil.0

That said, a firm email with phot evidence will be heading it's way to them shortly.
It puzzles me how the DVLA can be so gullible.
It's gone from having the wrong Company name on the signs to now having no company name. And they don't see a problem with that?0 -
Sniffy emails sent to both DVLA and Companies House.
Also pointed out to DVLA that as Town and City Parking are not registered with ICO or the AOS, any release of data would be a breach of the DPA.
And,
As there is no such company, no alleged contract could possibly be formed therefore no right to access RK Data.0 -
Is the correct business name / company number shown on the website as thats a breach if not shown0
